I'm A Slacker But This Time It's Not My Fault.

This is what I have been up to since I last blogged - TAXES... I'm going back and starting from July 2011 and doing up until June 2013 - even though I did do my taxes (BASS) during this time frame - mistakes were made and now I have to redo them all. Especially the stuff I am allowed to claim because apparently I never claimed nearly enough of what I could have. So at the moment I am up to April 2012.

Mum's second cataract operation is now this Friday (May 3rd). and I will be at the hospital all that day.

I got up this morning and among all my wild birds there is one lone pigeon - the poor thing looks so out of place amongst the galahs, parrots, cockatoos and ducks.

Reviews & Other News...

I will let you decide whether you agree or disagree - I think this is awesome.

OTHER NEWS:

Well honestly, I haven't been doing much as most of my time lately has been spent getting stuff together for the Tax man and trying to organise my ITIN number (which is apparently important if you live outside of the USA and are an author). So if by any chance you're an author and this applies to you for all USA publishers... then I would say you better get one organised.

I also got all the way to the hospital on Wednesday and had no sooner sat down when we found out mum's cataract operation had been cancelled due to a high list of emergency patients. So now we will have to wait until sometime in May before we hear when we're to go again.

Then to top off a very hectic week; a truck drove past me and threw up a rock and chipped my wind screen so now I have the repair guy coming out to tell me if I can repair it or if the whole thing needs replacing.

SPAM Inc...

OMG - I woke up this morning and I had IM over at Yahoo and while I have it I am taking full advantage of the whole thing and talking to Embry Carlysle - Today we are discussing SPAM Inc... and how to get it off the ground so to speak. Over the course of the year we've been planning this universe out, we've made many changes... Taken breaks from it to write other stuff, but we always come back to this series. I finally think we are getting somewhere.

Now of course you would have to ask Embry her thoughts on this whole series, but I dare say she will tell you I'm driving her nuts (I can be a tad bossy - or so I've heard). Not in the whole - 'you will do it my way or no way at all' - but in the pushing in getting shit talked about and sorted out.

I've also been finding lots of pictures of how I think the universe should look so each realm although connected is distinctly different... Embry is going to go through them at some stage soon and let me know which ones she agrees with and which ones she doesn't like.

So that is basically what me and Embry have been doing today in between our other writing projects.

Today I am...

After being away yesterday - The tax man waits for no one. (No seriously, I had a meeting with my new accountant who looks an awful lot like the girl who plays Wanda/Melanie in The Host). Things are finally looking up for a change even if I do have to keep paying the ATO - LOL.

Anyway, I've started on chapter nine in TLOM: Living in Shadows...  and I hope to have a clear writing schedule for the future - I'm almost halfway there.

I still haven't heard back on Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse... actually I never got an email confirming it reached KB - I better email her because my net probably ate the damn thing, it's been playing up. (I've had no IM over at Yahoo for nearly two months now... won't even bring up my contacts list).

On that note, I will away, because I have shit-loads to do and not enough time to do it all... But you all have days like that. Catch you all tomorrow.

What's the Goss?!

Well I've just finished chapter 7 in The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows brings me up to 37K - The shit has well and truly hit the fan and Michael has just found his balls and manned up... from here on out we see a Michael who is a lot tougher - especially when it comes to hunting down the people who have hurt his family... All of his family - both old and new.

AND NOW: The hunt is on, and Michael and family are determined to come out on top. With a little help from a few new allies Michael finds himself the unconventional leader of them all (for the moment). Though my biggest whoa moment was finding out more about Doyle... (I did not see that coming).

I find when I'm rearranging sequences that I add a bit or take away a bit - OR - change the thing completely. Maybe I should have left it as is... but I think I like it more now. I have 55K of rearranging to do before I am ready to sub it to my MLR editor Kimberly. In the first book there was talk about manning Michael up a tad, and now with this book, I hope I've done it in a way which comes off as believable. I suppose only time will tell.

Well, I better get back to work as I won't be here tomorrow, I have meetings in Brisbane. So I just thought I would give you an update today.

I'm A Slacker, But Hey ~Shit Happens.

Today I had all intentions of writing, and then I spent the whole day figuring out the reading order of my favourite series... because I absolutely hate reading a series out of order and arse-about.

Just to name a few:

Stephani Hecht - Lost Shifters/Drone Vampires/EMS Heat/Wayne County Wolves
Andrew Grey - Farm... Love means/Love/Bottled Up/Work Out
Joyee/Gabrielle/Stormy - The Midnight Matings
Gabrielle Evans - Moonlight breed & Haven (when the crossover)
Lynn Hagen - Brac Pack/ Demon Warriors/Zeus's Pack/Christian's Coven/The Exiled/Brac Village (and how they crossover)
Carol Lynn - Everything
Stormy Glenn - Everything

I promise to get back onto the writing tomorrow - right now I'm gonna go feed my cats, then put my feet up, relax, and finish reading the Lost Shifters

The Lines of Marsden

Today I've gotten everything off my agenda so that I can sit down and work on the next re sequencing  chapter in The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows... Plus I'm adding a scene where a still very human Gypsy takes on a paranormal - all in the name of protecting Michael.  This is also the scene where I introduce Maffa & Jaffa (twin wolves).

Most of this is already written I just have to move the scene's to where I now want them to take place. Mind you Michael, Christian and Doyle are telling me to pull my finger out and get on with it - (apparently I have a tendency to get sidetracked).

New Submission

I submitted Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse to MLR -  hopefully I'll get a yes back.
To celebrate me finally getting it subbed - I decided to post some pretty pictures.
Well, pretty to me.

Today While I Am Absent

Today while I'm away from my computer (my mum is having cataract surgery) I have decided to sit in the waiting room and long-hand the next couple of chapter fix ups in The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows. I'll have the time to nut out the sequence that is pissing me off.

Also, I could just as easily work on the new story idea I have running around inside my head after seeing a picture on Face Book (I will post the picture which prompted me below) the story will be titled - Experimentals: Messages from the Dead. (which is book 3 in the series).

But in my head I see a dead guy

I'm Knackered!!!

I spent the whole of Sunday cleaning out my office, because apparently my hubs thinks my library has exploded in there and taken up the whole space and pushed everyone else out. he didn't really appreciate my reply when I said: "Well, you know what to do - extend the office." (For future notice He is extending my office or I should say building me a room of book cases so all my books are in the one place and not all over the house.)

Why is it when you start rearranging and cleaning crap out, the room gets messier and messier?

I got up early and pulled all the books out of one book case and had them stacked on the kitchen bench and the dining room table and my hubs walks out and goes "Fuck you have a lot of books." which my mum replies with a sarcastic grin, "That's just one book case she has three more to go." (Okay, I admit it - I have a lot of books and they are two deep on every shelf). Em wakes up and takes one look into the room and say: "There's no way in hell I'm getting roped into helping you clean that shit up."

I can tell you right now - " I'm not feeling the love, people." What happened to family loyalty, and lending a helping hand when needed?

Well anyway, the point I was trying to make was - I cleaned my office and now I can't find anything.

4 Days Later...

Okay, so it's now 4 days later: I still haven't finished Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse - I swear I only have 1 chapter to go. Though I haven't just pushed it to the side I have actually been busy as all get go.

I am not a plotter: Yet I have found myself going through all my stories and writing a couple of sentences on what I want to happen in each chapter of said story. So far I have done:

Experimentals: Running into Zero Tolerance.
Sons of Evenmore: Blood to Blood
Sons of Evenmore: Beneath A Red Moon
Lancaster's Way: A Different Way of Seeing
Lancaster's Way: Pre-Loved
Hearts Among The Stars: Dancing to the Beat That's Broken
Hearts Among The Stars: In The Next Room
Flood Gates

Next up in  the sorta plotting out are:

The Diamond Rose: Undercover Hearts.
Toowoomba Boys: Dancing with Demons
Toowoomba Boys: Snapshots in Time
Windblown Kisses: His Damsel in Disgrace
Windblown Kisses: Being Jamie's Bear
Day Walkers: Real You
Taking Chances: Lie to Me (Really just need chapters rearranged)
Taking Chances: Pick me up & Dust me off
Pack Matter's: Chasing Dreams of You
Watson Falls: Between One Heartbeat & The Next (Chapter rearranging)
SPAM Inc: Claiming Roxy's Heart

I Have A Plan... Well Sort Of.

As shocking as it is I've actually been thinking about my WIPS and future WIPS.

I'm thinking I'm in need of a priority list on my writing... as it is, I just write on the day whatever takes my fancy whether that's an ongoing story or I start writing something new.

So for the month of April I'm going to concentrate on one story at a time. I'm hoping to finish Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse by Friday the 12th. And then I want to finish both Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour (Mainly because I thin Ray & Viv's story needs to be told) and The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows.

If there's anything you all need to read from me let me know and I can work it into my priority list... Sometimes I need a kick in the pants to remember that I have other series out there -  LOL. Any way leave me a comment and tell me what you think... Also I'm thinking of doing a Christmas story this year based on characters from any of my stories. So if there is a story you would like to have a Christmas story about let me know.

Story Name Changes & Musical Inspiration

I just went onto a site to vote for a book in some poll when as I'm scanning down the list to see what else is there I come across a book with the same title as on of my whips 'It Started With A Whisper' I was like WTF! Luckily I still have time to change my title before I submit the story... Now It's just thinking of a new one. I'm thinking along the lines of 'Blessed With A Curse'.

So I have been spending all morning listening to Bullet For My Valentine who are my background music inspiration for this series - I might even share with you a little inspirational music.

These are worth the watch - just for Matt Tuck.

Why is it...

Why is it the moment you think you have a handle on what you're doing something happens to throw all your well laid plans out the window... Though today for me it could be a total lack of sleep. I was lying in bed last night and all of a sudden my series Windblown Kisses jumped to mind and I couldn't stop thinking about what I had already written... which is almost the whole of book one - all I was meant to do was fix the head hopping before I subbed it.

Yeah right!

You know as soon as I started thinking about it there was no hope in hell Vlad was gonna let me rest. I lay there for awhile trying to force myself to sleep, but by 2am I was up with a notepad and biro in my hand writing down everything which was buzzing around in my head. I spent the next 4 hours nutting through the 5 book series and getting things set so when it came time to write I was ready.

The picture here on the left of Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and who I've based my Ray Connelly on. It was his eyes which sucked me in. And on the right is Austin Winkler who I've based my Christopher (Viv) Vivens. Now that you see what I see in my head I only have to add that I now have a total re-write to do on My Knight in Tarnished Armour... same story line just in a different sequence and I'm taking out the cheating because I don't think I need that scene any longer. But we all know me - for me it can all change on a dream.
