Day 171: Swimming Day

While the girls were at swimming, I decided to tackle the oh so fun job of cleaning out the fridges before we go and do the shopping this afternoon. It was horrible. at least I know it will never get that way again, as I always clean them the day before shopping day.

Monsoon also has a birthday party to attend across the road. She's going to be a nightmare to deal with when she gets home.

I did a bit more in the kitchen/dining room... it seems to be never ending. I have to keep telling myself I will get there in the end.

Day 170: Crisis Averted

Disaster was upon me, and I almost had a mental breakdown; but in the end I had to do a factory reset. Okay, last night my granddaughter (Monsoon 3); got a hold of my phone and did something to it so that I was flooded with ads every 5 seconds. It took me hours this morning trying to get it all back to normal.

Now I just have to re-downloaded everything that I had before. It's a pain in the arse, because I honestly can't remember what I had on my phone.

I'm still unpacking and setting up the house. There is still so much to do. I'll get there eventually. I'm just tired as hell. I wish it was this time next week/month and all the hard work would be over and done with. It's freaking hard work moving house.

Okay, I'll catch you with you tomorrow.

Day 169: Tired As Hell

I woke up tired today with the daunting task of beginning the whole unpacking process. The fight to fit two households into one is a real struggle. So today I put it off and did the washing and some yardwork instead. Though, inside I did clean out one of the main bookcases. It's the one right beside the front door, and the first thing everyone sees. I need to have it clean, neat and tidy.

Today I let the cats outside for the first time. Very happily they didn't run away... which is always a worry when you move house. Oliver did a whole explore of the yard and paddock. Robson just did a quick look around and was straight back inside.

I've decided that I need to take out time each day just for myself. I need to catch up on me time. But that will have to wait until after I have finished all the unpacking and cleaning of the house.

Day 168: Done & Dusted

Today I finished the cleaning at the old house and finally handed back the keys. Now it's waiting to find out if I cleaned it well enough. Pounds to peanuts they will find something wrong with.

At the new house I've tried to get a bit of stuff put away, but I seem to be making more of a mess with everything I put away. I know I'll get it all set to rights eventually.

I just don't know where to begin. I wish I could magically snap my fingers and have everything done for me. I'm stuck because I have to clean everything before I can put everything away.

I think I will have to do my usual and write up a list of everything that needs to be done and then mark them off as I complete each task. The problem is getting everyone else in the house to help me. I don't want to have to do everything by myself.

Talk again soon.

Day 167: Small Break

Today in between setting up our lounge room and doing some of the kitchen. I took a break from cleaning the old house. I can get back to that tomorrow. My back is killing me. I mainly just want our end of the house to be set up and finished, before I tackle the rest of the house.

It's hard getting anyone to help me. all the kids want to do is create mess while I want to put it all away. I will be happier when I have the kitchen/Dining room clear of clutter.

The cats are going stir crazy being locked up inside the house all day and night. I'll be glad when they can go outside again. I need to find a spot to set up their feeding station. It'll be easier to do when they can get back to their routine. It's hard right now while there is so much clutter everywhere.

Day 166: Slashing

Today, I got the whipper snipping finished (my neighbour leant me his snipper as mine couldn't get through the tough glass).  I also got the walls washed and then hired the slasher guys = luckily for me they had a spot open then and there. And one less job I have to worry about.

Even though this is a nice house. It will be better once we get settled as there are no stairs; easier for mum to navigate. I just have to train the kids not to leave their messes laying all over the place. Meaning, I'll have to teach them to pick up after themselves.

Another good thing is that the new house is warmer than the old house. at least with it being warmer, I'll be able to sleep better.

Day 165: Moving Day

Today is the moving day. I'm hoping to get it all done in 2 or 3 loads... seeing as we only have a small trailer like this. I've already moved a shit ton of our stuff over (via my own car).

I was hoping to get it done hassle free, but when there are so many people helping there are bound to be some tough moments. At least we got it done. Now the scary part is trying to get it all into the house.

I at least got mine and Mum's bedrooms set up, and half the lounge room. It's a start... I wonder how long it's going to take me to get the rest of the house organised.
