11 Days To Go

Eleven days to go  until I'm fully moved in to the new place. I really can't wait. A fresh start. we have had an horrendous year this year so many things have gone wrong... but in the end they have been for the best and life can only get better. Also recently found out that Emily has something wrong with her heart─it's dehydrating. She goes back for more tests on Tuesday hopefully it will be an easy fix. Well, I'm hoping all it requires is a change of diet and medication... Today she is off to dye her hair pink. I suppose to each their own.

I've been slowly getting the new place set up and it's coming together nicely. I've decided to start fresh all over and make the new house more ZEN... okay, maybe just more relaxing for Mum and myself. At least the most important room is done (well almost)my bedroom. I still have to put away a few things that I need to find homes for. I also still have a bit of rearranging to get done.

I had to give away some of my books, and here are a few that are on display. I also have some in the spare room and in the office area. I will share those pictures later.

My brother, my nephew, and myself have been  busily building a new cat enclosure/greenhouse/pergola at the new house and fingers crossed it gets done before we move.

My poor cats are stressing more and more each day as my old house empties out. Hell, Droogie even climbed into the car as I was packing it up to move another load. I think I have two loads myself to take before the movers take the rest... Mind you I think they only have about 14 things to move for me because they are too heavy for me to move myself.

Some day soon I'll get one here and tell you that I'm finally back to writing. It'll have been a long time in coming, and honestly, I can't bloody wait. Between now and the end of the year I'll be making myself a big list of all the next books in my series and one off books that I need to get done. Plus I need to figure out which books to get done for the Penny Brandon Writing Challenge that I had to put on hold this year. I'm determined to get it done in 2017.

So Fricken Tired....

Everyone knows how busy I have been this past year with separating from husband, stepson moving back in with his mother, renovations at 2 houses, moving Emily to Brisbane, and moving Mum & I to the new place we'll be renting (mind you, we still have 18 days until we move completely).

I'm tired of everything I've been through... dreading the things still to come (divorce)... actually I want to be able to write again. I want to sit down without all the worry and just get done what I have to. If the truth be told━I kinda feel lost with no writing. I've been working at it daily since 2010, and to got to 2016 where we are at the end of and I haven't written a word all year.

So what's ahead you might ask? I haven't got a fricken clue. I just know that by the time 2017 rolls around I will be ready to get back to work. All the major problems will have been sorted out... mind you the divorce will be next year, but I'm not going to let that affect me.

This is the first year that I won't be doing the Christmas blogs... I feel terrible about it, but I just don't have the time or energy this year. I hope next year everything will be back to normal and I will be showing off all those awesome authors out there.

I'll end up blogging photos after I'm finally moved in so everyone can check out my new digs. I spent last weekend setting up my library... needless to say I ran out of book shelves. My wonderful brother has thought of a way to give me the extra shelving that I need.

Time:⎼ there never seems to be enough of it. In case it takes forever for me to get on here again I wish everyone the best and hope your lives are running way smoother than mine is...LOL.

I Totally Blew It...

NaNoWriMo: Day 23 and I haven't written a bloody word... and have no hope in hell of catching up. Real life just got in the way. Everything seems to be happening at once... Daughter moving to Brisbane... I'm moving and have to be out within the next 3 weeks (I think I told you my house sold)... Doing renovations with my brother at the new place and unpacking what I can there before the furniture arrives. I promise next year I will be back to writing like I usually am. This year has just been chaotic madness. 2017 has got to be better than 2016.

My Guest ~ Nicki J. Markus

Brougham Hall
Release Date: 28 October 2016
Publisher: Fireborn Publishing
Novel/MF/PNR/Gothic/Historical—Regency
Heat Level: 1

BLURB:
A family estate falling into ruin. A young woman thrown into an unfamiliar world. Two brothers at odds over their secret. And an ancient malice that threatens destruction and death.
December 1822, Wiltshire, England
When Catherine goes to live with her highborn cousin's family at Brougham Hall, she expects restrictions on her previously free lifestyle and comments on her lack of social grace. What she does not anticipate is the loss of her heart, nor a web of dark family secrets that threaten the safety of everyone in the house.
Vampire twins Hal and James are Lord Grovely's guests. Though close in some respects, the different approach each takes to his vampiric nature puts a strain on their relationship. Having hoped for a pleasurable sojourn, they find themselves drawn into an unfolding drama in which their brotherly bond will be sorely tested.

EXCERPT:
She shivered as she peeled off her layers of clothing. It was cold in the room now night had fallen, so she did not dawdle, wanting to get beneath the blankets and warm her frozen skin. She slipped into her shift and bed jacket, and then tucked the loose strands of her hair into her night cap. Ready at last, Catherine turned back the bed, extinguished the lamp, and climbed in.
The darkness in the room was absolute. The lack of illumination in the hallway beyond precluded even a sliver of light from entering the chamber, and Catherine found her other senses heightened by the restriction on her vision. As she lay there, she heard creaks and groans, and the wind buffeted the windowpane as it roared past. Somewhere outside, an owl hooted. Then came whispers. It sounded as if two people were talking in urgent, hushed tones. Their voices were soft at first but grew louder as they approached, even though Catherine could not make out the words they spoke.
“Who's there?” Her own voice sounded tremulous and high.
She listened, but the voices were gone. No, not gone; they had never been there to begin with. She was exhausted, and this was her first night in a strange house and an unfamiliar bed. It was natural she would feel anxious and hear things that were not there. Nonetheless, if she carried on in this manner, she would soon convince herself a ghost was hovering at the foot of her bed, and that was nothing but nonsense. With this reprimand in mind, she closed her eyes and settled down to sleep.
