Day 68: Still Windy

 

It is still really windy and raining today. Honestly, I will be glad when this is all over. Today I have at least 5 huge branches down all over my yard. One of them is across my driveway, so. I'll have to move that when the rain slows down. Both my cats are still inside and refusing to budge.

At least there isn't much to be done on days like these. To me, it looks like it's going to be another reading and coffee day.

I had to raid my pantry and take supplies around to my daughter's place. the kids are starting to feel better and are eating her out of house and home.  I will say this. Major storm weather like this does give the fridge/ freezer/ and pantry a good clean out. We'll start fresh after this is all over.

My older cat, Oliver seems to be fascinated with all the rain. He's sitting on the front verandah just watching it. Robson is still hiding under the doona.

Day 67: Tropical Storm

 

Cyclone Alfred has been downgraded to a tropical storm. though in saying that, the wind has really started to pick up at our house I will definitely be shutting up the house and staying inside. We also have the rain now as well. It may have been downgraded but we are now feeling the full effects. 

Both my cats, Oliver and Robson are hiding under my doona on my bed. they don't like the noise. as yet none of the trees have fallen.

I'm spending the day cuddled up with a hot coffee and reading. Though, I did take time out to clean my laundry and get it back to how it's meant to be looking. I also cleaned out my fridge again.

I just want to spend a few seconds talking about panic buyers. Those people who rush down to the shops and buy up everything on the shelves. Which if you ask me, is nuts. if the power goes out for any stretch of time you will probably lose all the meat and perishables. Some of us actually need bottled water to drink and cook with, because our tank water is shyte. For days now there hasn't been any. I just want to say. stop panic buying... it ruins shopping for the regular people who are just trying to do their normal shopping.

Day 66: Alfred Update

 

The rain started today, up until now it's only been showers, but today there is rain. still not as heavy as I was thinking, but it's here.

I had to move my chilli plant and my parsley up onto my back verandah where they were at least sheltered from the wind. I would hate for them to get destroyed.

I tried cancelling my Physio Appointment which is supposed to be Monday. Somehow, I don't think I'll be getting out of my area. The problem was everything is closed due to the cyclone. I'll just have to rebook after this is all over.

Other than that, mum and I are both fine. Everyone still sick around the corner at my daughter's house. Mum and I are both feeling okay.

Day 65: No School

 

Well, the kids are excited that there's no school = Thursday, Friday, Monday & Tuesday, because we'll all be home due to Alfred. They are expecting the rain and winds to get worse. Lucky really, as Cyclone, Hurricane, and Monsoon are all sick again. They'll have time to rest and get well. Bad thing is their mum is sick right along with them. I managed to do a chemist run and get medication for everyone.

The water is rising... 

At least there was no rain today. Just a slight sprinkle after dark. Though the wind is getting stronger.

My big chore for the day was getting caught up on my own washing. At least in weather like this I can hang everything in my spare room on airers. I have a mad headache, that even my medication isn't touching. I'll probably have to switch to the migraine medicine. 

Day 64: Cyclone Alfred

Cyclone Alfred: and a real one this time; not just the name I call my eldest granddaughter. they have even sent out alerts to our phones. We live a good couple of hours from the coast. So, I'm hoping it doesn't get as bad for us in here. I can see us getting flooded in if we get hit with the rain.

We have all been issued clean up the yard warnings, so nothing is able to blow around in the wind. I'm lucky I don't really have anything in my yard. My greatest worry is, if we do get strong winds; one of the trees could come down in my yard I have huge widow maker gums. I don't want one falling on the house.

At least the rain hasn't been too bad, only a few light showers for the moment. It will probably get worse as the cyclone gets closer to land. Just so you all know my internet will be jumping in and out, so I'll be out of touch.

Day 63: Play List Time

 

Day 62: New Tyres

 

I finally got around to getting my new tyres, and a wheel alignment. One of my major chores for the year done. I had Monsoon with me; so, we ended up taking a walk down to Woolworths, which is 2 blocks away. She loved pushing all the buttons on the crosswalks and stopping to look at a stick insect that was on the footpath. We also stopped to look at the kangaroos who were resting in the paddock next to the shopping centre. we also ran into Monsoon's favourite cousin/aunty. So, she was happy about that. while we waited for her mum to come and pick us up, we got the few things we needed from the shop. And a snack because all that walking made Monsoon hungry.

Hurricane: got an academic award on parade this morning. Hence the reason I had Monsoon with me while their mum was at school parade watching Hurricane.

Working on a new story idea, as yet it is untitled. But I need to get the thoughts down while they are still in my head. If I wait too long, I will forget all about them. It has happened to me before. where I've thought I've written them down and haven't. It annoys the f*ck out of me. My words of wisdom for today: write it down = nobody's memory is that great.

Day 61: 1st Eisteddfod of the Year

 

I have Monsoon and Hurricane for the morning, while Cyclone is off doing her thing. she came home with a pennant and 3 medals. Very proud of her. Hurricane ate me out of house and home. I don't understand how someone so small/tiny can eat so much... she eats more than I do.

The weather is weird today; it's as hot as, but real windy at the same time. the girls and I spent tome watering the plants and deciding if we need to move them. I have Parsley and Birdseye Chillies growing.

the girls have been drawing me pictures all morning. I couldn't get any work done while they are here, so I spent the day reading; because wherever they are working, they need me to be. Not because they're clingy, but because I don't like it when they go silent. It usually means they are up to no good.

Monsoon was playing hide and go seek by herself. I found her a few times sitting in my utility cupboard in the pantry. When I asked her what she was doing. She told me to shut the door again because she was hiding. Whatever floats her boat.

Day 60: Sleepover Day

And by sleepover, I mean Hurricane and Monsoon are spending the night at my house. Means I'll have a crappy night's sleep. And will have to endure watching Minions... and Captain Underpants again.

At least with Hurricane being sick yesterday, she should go to sleep early, and Monsoon isn't quite over her cold so I'm hoping she'll nod off at a reasonable time as well.

Not that they are annoying, it's just they both want to sleep in my bed with me, and the pair of them are bed hogs. I'll more than likely end up on the couch, while they have my bed.

Grandkids: You gotta love them.

Cyclone; well she had to get new jazz shoes for her big day tomorrow. she's just excited to have a night off from her sisters. She tells me they can get a little noisy... I think because they turn their listening ears off.

Day 59: Washing Machines.

My daughter's washing machine has a blockage. So it looks like I will be doing double duty with mine until she gets it sorted out. seeing as she has 3 kids, she doesn't want to let it build up. Especially because Hurricane was sick last night and vomited over everything.

Weirdly washing is one of my favorite chores to do. Everything goes in dirty and comes out smelling and looking so clean.

On the bright side it gives me time to read in between loads. I'm still reading, Sherrilyn Kenyon's: Dark Hunter series. I forgot how much I enjoy these books. Well worth the re read.

I have a mad headache today, and my back is twinging a touch, but nothing to really complain about.

Day 58: More Cleaning

 Why is it on days when you're as tired as all get go... the cleaning chores seem to take freaking forever to do.

1> I cleaned the air fryer again... one of the hardest things to clean. I have one that looks like a mini oven. I got most of it clean, but I'll have to do it again soon. If you all know of something that is an easy hack, feel free to let me know.

2> I also wiped over all my pantry doors. they seem to get grubby handprints on them all the time. annoying as hell.

3> I cleaned out my plasticware and glassware drawers, so everything sits in their just a little bit neater.

4> I also had to buy new frying pans. I'm not saying I forgot to turn off the stove... but I did burn the a*se end out of my big frying pan. Lesson learned always check the stove. 

Day 57: Sore Finger and other stuff

 

Don't you just hate it when you hurt yourself and you have no clue at all of how it happened. Today I realized the tip of my right index finger is as sore as hell. And why is it when you have something like that you are always bumping, and or, touching it and making it feel worse than it already is... Yeah, well that's my life today. Well, actually, it started hurting late yesterday afternoon.

I'm going to go and see about new tyres for my car while I'm downtown today... That's my big chore. The ones I have now are wearing out fast.

I also have to Pick up mum's medication from the chemist and fit in a bit of grocery shopping somewhere. Full agenda. I'm trying to get it all done today, because on Friday I have Cyclone sleeping over, and then on Saturday I have Hurricane sleeping over. Monsoon is going to sleep over at her favourite Aunt's (Second cousin) house. Friday I will be either watching Wednesday, or Stranger Things... and on Saturday; it will more than likely be Captain Underpants, or Buzz Lightyear. I'll have to make sure my Kindle is fully charged.

I'm not sure I'll get any writing done on either of those days... But that's okay as it will give me more time to read Sherrilyn Kenyon.

I have decided to read the Dark Hunter series again by Sherrilyn Kenyon. So, I have spent a good little while trying to figure out the reading order. I mean so I know where each offshoot and short story is in the chronological reading order.

Day 55: Happy Birthday Lacey

 

Happy birthday, Lacey. I may have forgotten how old you are, but at least I remembered your birthday.

In other news I'm still working on Iron Horse MC 1: Just this side of crazy. though at some point I may swap back to Dark Frost 1: Accidentally Yours. I'll see how I'm faring. 

My cold is coming back, and this time around I have the cough to go with it, which in turn makes my ribs as sore as hell; and has brought my headache back.

My big chore for today is to fold up all the laundry and put it away, and wash whatever is in the basket. I'm trying not to let it all build up again. because it's so exhausting when I have to do laundry all day long.

I probably won't get any yardwork done. Not when I'm feeling like crap. My yard is such an odd shape that it makes it so hard to keep tidy; and parts are on so much of a tilt that I have fallen down embankments way more than I should. Pain in the ar*e. in saying that though, I'm slowly getting it down.

Day 54: Sneezing & Other Things

 

A Random picture just because I think it's cute. I have a ton of them; so, I don't have to have the same picture twice on my blog this year.

This morning, I woke up sneezing again. Everything feels so blocked up. and now I have a headache again. I wish I could sneeze quietly, but alas, I'm one of those sneezers that the neighbours can most likely hear.

My big chore for today is to clean the kitchen. except the air fryer, because I will be buying the cleaning products on Wednesday. I'll just give that one a quick wipe out.

I started typing up Iron Horse MC 1: Just This Side of Crazy... It was the bad dream. My Main characters are indeed Mabel Jones & Stone Jacobs... the dream guy being tortured is Pheonix (Nix) Jacobs... Stone's twin brother. Slightly getting changed as I type it up.

Though right now, I'm having a cup of coffee, because I'm freaking freezing again. I'm obviously not quite over my cold. I'll take it as easy as I can today, in the hopes that I don't get any worse. In case I have never told you... I really hate being sick.

Day 53: Household Chores

 

Today, I finally got the bedding all changed and washed. Once it's dry, I'll fold it up and put it all away. It was my big chore for today. I'm glad I got it done.

I did more whipper snipping and mowing. I'm getting satisfaction out of seeing it all come down. I had a chat with my neighbour while doing along the fence line.

I worked some more on the bad dream MC story. It seems to be getting more in depth. and becoming more interesting for me to write... I'll probably keep it.

I started watching Warehouse 13 again. only because I can. I've always loved that series... funny as hell. I love all the characters. Looks like after this I'll have to watch Eureka (which is a spin off).

Today, we got our internet back. Six very long days. So, I spent the afternoon adding all my handwritten blog post here. At least now I'm all caught up again. 

I need to give myself a haircut. Let's hope that my arm/shoulder feels agreeable to moving the way I need it to while clippering my hair. I get headaches if it grows past a certain length.

Day 52: Yard Work Again

 

I managed to whipper snip one of my yard patches. I still need to mow over it, now that it's low enough. I'm trying not to overextend myself. I'm just happy I'm getting all caught up on everything.

I doctored my push mower. I hat using the grass catcher, so I drilled holes in it and tied it open. much better. Seeing as all my stuff is battery operated. I'm trying to do one whipper snipper battery, and one Mower battery worth of work each day.

I'm still sneezing and coughing, I'm not sure whether it's still the cold, or if it's allergies from all the grass. Probably, a little bit of both.

I also started writing out the story for bad dream I had last week. It's turning out a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I will write a bit more of them in long hand before I type it all up. I'm enjoying it. I'll continue writing until I decide if it's a keeper or not.

I didn't have to babysit today, because My daughter is off work sick> double ear infection. So, it wasn't going to be good if she got into pool. I'm happy for the day off.

Day 51: Today I...

 

Today, I... am so sore from doing yard work that I think I'll take tomorrow off.

Today, I... went to walk through a doorway, and then walked straight into the doorjamb> it was like it just jumped oy and bit me.

Today, I... left the laundry door open and Oliver (my elderly cat) jumped up on the washing machine and pressed a button to start a cycle... scared the shit out of the poor cat.

Today, I... finally worked out what the weird tapping noise in my bedroom every time I turn on the fan... turns out the decorative cross I got from a gift shop at a Melbourne church.

Today, I... Tweaked my back again, so I'm hoping it doesn't go out completely again.

In conclusion: I've decided that I really am a freaking klutz. Especially with all the weird shit that happens to me on a daily basis. I'm just lucky I wake up each day still breathing.

Day 50: Sick

 

I definitely woke up sick this morning. I've sneezed so much, that I thought I dislodged half my brain. I thought I had hay fever, but as the day wore on, I'm more believing it's a freaking dreaded cold. Inevitably, I always catch whatever the granddaughters come down with.

 As per usual it comes along with a damn migraine. luckily, for me this time it was just a rainbow kind. One that I can at least treat with medication and don't have to lock myself away in a dark room for hours.

Sadly, for me, I still had to get up and look after my mum. all the while trying not to get too close, because I don't want to make mum sick.

Today, I started watching: The Librarians. I wanted to watch something that I like, but didn't have to concentrate on. Meaning it wouldn't matter if I doze off. That, and I have it on DVD because with the internet still out; I can't watch TV which needs the internet to work.

I also managed to get my big chore done, which was do the washing. I was buggered by the end of it, but at least I can hang it all inside. The smell of the washing liquid was so overpowering it was making me nauseous. It sounded super sweet.

Day 49: Yard Work

 

I tried to get a little bit of whipper snipping done, because it's too long to mow the house yards. My shoulder/arm wasn't too happy about it. I've decided that I'll just have to take it slowly and just do a little bit every day. It'll all get done eventually.

My eldest sister Saff, and her second youngest daughter (who's a grown woman in her own right); came around and brought Mum Chinese for a belated lunch. I made myself fish and salad. because I knew what was in it.

I was freezing today, which is weird in itself seeing as that we're still in the hot months of our year. Everyone else was all dressed for the summer months while I was all rugged up. I hope I'm not coming down with the same cold my granddaughter's all have.

I had both Hurricane and Monsoon today, while Cyclone went for her swimming lesson. So, today we watch Rise of the Guardians... twice.

Day 48: Happy Birthday Mum & Other Stuff

 

1.  My wonderful mother turns 93 today. It's her day to be spoiled so whatever she wants for lunch that is what I'm making her... Apparently, its honey, soy, and garlic chicken.
2. At 7:30 am they started slashing our paddock. the guy says it will take three hours... but it only ended up taking two.
3. Telstra is working on some tower in our area, so I have no internet; and I won't have for the next five days. I'll have to write the posts out in a notebook so I can type them up once I get back online.
4. I had Hurricane while Cyclone was at dance practice. Hurricane is so congested it's not funny. Monsoon is spending the arvo with her favourite Aunty (second cousin). So at least there won't be any fighting.
5. I have a mad headache today. I'm trying to do as little as possible. At least my back is almost back to normal. It's only twinging every now and then, now.
6. Today's big chore was untangling all the wire behind the TV... Zip ties are a wonderous invention. At least I have no worries about Robson (youngest cat) won't get all tripped up as he's going through the space between the TV and the wall.

Day 47: Bad Dreams

 

I woke up this morning around 3:30am and knew I had been having a dream. I only class it as a bad dream because when I woke it was to the remnants of some man screaming and yelling inside my head. the voice was deep so I can only assume it is a male. It sounded so realistic that in the first few minutes of wakefulness, I thought the person was standing in my bedroom next to my bed. 

As I lay there; now wide awake; I came to terms with the fact that it had to be a dream. because there definitely wasn't an angry man standing in my room beside my bed. I got the sense that my dream man was being tortured. That's when I realized I must have been dreaming up a new story line. I'm not sure for which series, but at least now I have the gist of the plot.

I'm thinking it will fit nicely into one of my MC series. Now I have to work out who the main couple are going to be (though the names Mabel Jones and Stone Jacobs jump immediately to mind). I don't get the feeling that it's Stone getting tortured but maybe someone close to him: and that guy projects his pain into Mabel's dreams.

No one believes Mabel so she decides to track down the MC on her own and get them to help her find the dream guy. Everyone thinks she's a little nuts, but at least the MC decide to help her. especially if it brings home their missing club member.

I can tell you; I've been reading this series and loving it. I love all the characters. I loved how they all interacted with each other. Both the baddies and the goodies.

I'm not usually into mafia books; but this series might very well have changed my mind. I'm not going to give any spoilers away because I really think you should all read it. 'Pinky swear' you'll love it.

If I have one negativity about the series is that I have to wait for the next book. But that's okay, being a writer myself I know it takes time to get the story right. It just means I can re-read these volumes and find all the parts I didn't see the first time around.

This series has definitely become part of my favourites list. and to think I only found it because of a snippet I saw on Facebook.

Day 45: Babysitting Again

I have to look after my granddaughters again, while their mum is working. Both Hurricane and Cyclone are ill, so they are home from school. If I'm honest, I think Monsoon might be a tad sick as well. They all have colds in varying degrees.

Today, I'm bribing them with screen time. If it keeps them all quiet, I'm all for that. at least their mum is only working until lunch time, and then they get to go home, and I can rest.

I have a damn headache. I love my granddaughters, but some days they do my head in; and while they're sick it's one of those days. it also doesn't help that one has ADHD and likes to make weird high-pitched noises.

I'm finding it harder and harder to recover after each visit. But they only have to smile and my heart melts. It's then that I completely forget what little terrors they have been. Because they are my little angels.

I don't get any writing done while they are here. Hurricane and Monsoon always want to help. I've made that mistake before. I've left my current WIP open and one of the girls has either added a heap of gibberish of deleting big chunks of my story that I'll never get back. It's just easier not to have the computer on.

Day 44: A walking Stick Kind of Day

 

I managed to get out of bed today. I'm having to use my walking stick to get around, but at least I'm up and moving. I'd spent the last three days sleeping most of the day away. But today I have to go and get some groceries.

I also had get as mobile as possible... making it easier to look after my mum. She still needed to have her food etc cooked. Seeing as I'm her carer it's kind of my full-time job.

I organised to have my paddock slashed. The guy should be out next Monday, unless of course it rains. My luck it's going to freaking rain. It will be good to see all the grass.

I even managed to make a nice lunch, which was good after having three days of freezer meals. I much prefer when I can cook for myself. the food always tastes better.

Day 43 Random Thoughts #5

 

1. While my back is still sore, I've been forced to have a lazy day. It's throwing my whole day out. So, cleaning out my fridge and freezer out is out for today.
2. I've been recharging my kindle my kindle so that I can start reading again. It's easier to read of a night than to write... and frankly, I miss it. I miss getting lost in the worlds of all the different characters.
3. While on back rest. I'm making a list of chores that I need to get done around the house and the yard. I'm going to have to do a little every day if I want to keep on top of things.
4. I also need some new supplies to get my air fryer and microwave clean. I have a hard time with those two. But come grocery day, I'll get everything I need. I'm going to try Elbow Grease this time around. It's a new product that I haven't tried before.
5. I did manage to clean out my bedside table drawers. not that they were really messy. but I was looking for a new charger cord. I found two, so I was happy with that.

Day 42: I Have Monsoon Today.

 

Yesterday, my back went out... so I basically ended up sleeping the afternoon away. I could hardly move. I woke up and it's still really tender. So, I won't be doing much again, because I can't sit up for long periods of time.

Though, I did have to get up and take Hurricane and Cyclone to school. I also have Monsoon while Emily is at work this morning. I'm hoping Monsoon is going to just want to have a quite morning watching my phone or TV. Knowing her as I do, she'll want to eat me out of house and home.

I need to sort out the cords behind my TV. They look like a jumbled mess, and It's doing my freaking head in. Yet, that will be a job when I don't have Monsoon here trying to help me.

It looks like we might get some rain today. unless the clouds all disappear on us.

Writing wise: I'm not sure I'm up to getting any done, seeing as I'll have to be lying down mostly for my back. That, and I can't write while Monsoon is here. I have her this morning and again this arvo when Hurricane and Cyclone go swimming.

Day 41: Physio Day

 

I had physio today... I rate how well I'm doing, by how easy is it to wash my armpits in the shower. I know it sounds stupid; but for some reason it works for me. In the beginning I had so much trouble especially trying to use my left hand to reach under the right armpit. Or to even raise my left arm high enough to wash under it.

Some days are way better than others. I'm in a bit of pain at the moment because Monsoon decided to help me with and exercise and ended up hurting me. Not her fault. She's three and I shouldn't have been doing the exercises while she was here. Lesson learned, and I won't be doing that again.

I was hoping the physio guy, (J), was going to be able to tell that I'm doing the exercises every day. Because I might be a bit slack in marking them off in the App. I can tell him I'm sleeping better. I still can't sleep on that side for long, but at least now my shoulder/ arm isn't aching all night. Now I just have to plod along until my next appointment.

Day 40: Little Things

 

Today I need to do all the little things, or rather 5 little chores. The ones I hate doing like:

1. Cleaning the microwave.
2. Cleaning the air fryer.
3. Wiping all the spills off the kitchen cupboards - I thought I got them all yesterday after the kids left, but this morning I realized I had missed a few.
4. Cleaning the shower glass.
5. Changing all the bedding.

At least I have all day to get them done. I also have to fold the Laundry today; but I don't mind doing that one.

I don't want to overexert myself, because I don't want to be too sore to go to physio tomorrow.

I also need to try and get a bit of writing done. On that note I will away and get started. Right after I clean up the furball my cat Robson decided to just leave at my feet. Yay, what fun it is to be a pet owner. I'm kidding, I love my cats... most of the time. 

Day 39: Decluttering & Other Things

 Today I've been decluttering all of my writing files. Making sure that when I'm actually working on something, all the clutter in the files is gone and I'm only left with what I need.

I've been having a bad headache today. Not a blinder, but a slow dull thump. I think I may have forgotten to take my medication this morning.

I finished watching both versions of Ghosts. I liked different characters in both the English and the American versions... Basement ghosts were funny in both.

It was a freaking warm day again today. Yes, I know it's summer, and it's meant to be hot. I must obviously be a winter person; I really do like the cooler weather.

Today I tried to work on Dark Frost 1: Accidentally Yours. It's been good getting to know the characters again. In the end I decided to stop and try again tomorrow. Hard to work on anything when you have two of the granddaughters visiting. Today I had Cyclone and Monsoon... while Hurricane went and got her new glasses.

Day 38: Babysitting Duty

 

Okay, I have Monsoon again today. I know she gets fed at home. I just don't understand as soon as she walks through Mar-Mar's (me) door she starts demanding food. I don't know where she fits it all she is a tiny little thing (3).

I'm also washing all the bedding today. I forgot how hard it is trying to remake a bed with two cats walking all over it and thinking I'm playing every time shake out a sheet or the doona.

I'm also trying to get some writing done. Not sure how much I'll manage with Monsoon here. Right now, I'm bribing her with screen time. She's watching kids YouTube; better than me having to sit through one of her movies again. Her favourites at the moment are:

Day 36: Random Thoughts #4

 

Just when you think the rain has finally stopped; it starts up again. I just can't freaking win.

I have spent the day reviewing a different book series. Dark Frost, it's a sci fi... I forgot how much fun it was working on those stories.

I started watching Ghosts on Brit Box... weirdly, it's kind of funny. my favourites are the ghosts in the boiler room. 

I have another headache today. Just a nagging one. At least it's not a true thumper. I'm afraid today is only going to be a super short. I'll catch you all tomorrow.

Day 35: Really starting to hate technology

 

Why is it, that every time my computer or phone needs to update something, everything freaking changes. It takes me so long to learn the new crap only for it to update again and screw me over once more. It's a total pain in the arse.

I have Monsoon this afternoon while the other two are at their swimming lessons. So, it looks like I will be watching Despicable Me 4 at some stage.

I have a twinge in my arm/shoulder today. I may have over did the exercises a little yesterday. I really need to get my cobweb broom back and get all the webs around the moulding on the roof down. They've seemed to only come inside since we've had non-stop rain.

I'm reaching 30K on Woden's Wolves 3: When Everything Shatters. I'm coming to the point in the story where it starts to turn, and head for the light at the end of the tunnel. Dare & Krush have been taking me on an adventure, and least I know some of the things to write about in books 1: Stronger Than She Looks & 2: There & Back Again.

Day 34: Thank You

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who sent me so many lovely birthday wishes. In case you're wondering I had a nice quiet day with my mother.

I did manage to get my chores, and all the writing done that I needed to; so that was a plus.

Today it's a tad on the windy side, so my internet keeps going in and out. My cat Ollie has been very clingy. He is laying right beside me and has to have some part of him touching me.

It's been a hot one today. Thank God for aircon.  I'm tired today. I wish I could say it was from having a drink or two on my birthday. Sadly, it's just from lack of sleep. I have a small touch of insomnia.

Day 33: Happy Birthday To Me

 

Well, today is my birthday - I'm turning 56. I'm hoping for a nice easy day. But, in saying that I still have to do my chores. Which today is the weekly washing.

I'm also trying to think what do I want to have for my birthday lunch. I'm leaning towards pasta, though I will ask my mum to see what she feels like.

If I have some spare time, I might even try and watch one of my DVDs... either an epic adventure like LOTR or a Muppet movie... seriously it could go either way with me. Though if my grandbabies come around, we'll probably be watching Despicable Me 4... it's their favourite at the moment.

Really to me birthdays are just like any other day. I'm getting past the point of needing a party etc. Mind you, I think the last party I had was on my 21st.

I'm also going to get as much of Woden's Wolves 3: When Everything Shatters (Alasdair 'Dare' McGinty & Kristen 'Krush' Ushton) typed up as I can.

Day 32: One Tired Night

 

My night started out with me agreeing to babysit my three granddaughters. They were great right up until the point when they weren't. There were tears and fighting over who got to sleep on the air mattress. There was pushing and shoving until in the end I assigned their sleeping spots.

I went to change Monsoon's nappy. As I sat on the side of the air mattress I fell/bounced off and landed on the floor, cracking the back of my head on the little wooded stool.

The girls decided they were having so much fun; they didn't go to sleep until a fraction before midnight. Turned out me and Monsoon got the air mattress, and the two other kids ended up in my bed with the two cats.

Then if that wasn't fun enough, at about 2am, the 13-year-old cat decided to throw up all over the bed. So, I had had to get up and deal with that, while trying not to wake the sleeping kids. I managed to get it done and fell back to sleep. Only to be woken a short time later by the cats wanting to get out.

I finally drifted back off to sleep and the three little terrors woke up wanting breakfast. Yes, I had to get up and see to them. I'm hoping tonight I get to go to bed at a decent hour.

On other news: I started typing up the longhand notes on Woden's Wolves 3: When Everything Shatters.

Day 31: One Month Down

 

I can't believe it's the end of January already. the month has seemed to have flown by. One minute it's Happy New Year, and the next it What the f*ck? my writing got thrown off kilter just a tad, but I'm sure by the end of February I should be back on track with everything. I kept up on wordage, just not the story I was planning on doing... but as Hurricane would say, "That's okay though." It just means I have one less story to write further in the year seeing as I did it now.

My foot is still hurting... as is everything else in my body. Growing older sucks.

I'm getting someone in to slash most of my yard. My shoulder and back won't let me do it at the moment. The real estate ladies helped me organise it. Which is nice of them.

My big chore today is clearing out my kitchen drawers and cupboards. I don't know how they get so messy. Plus, I need to read the expiration dates on everything. I hate it when there are items out of date. It also gives me a chance to move the newer stock to the back and the older stock forward.

So, on that note I will away and get my day started. If I'm feeling adventurous, I might even throw on a load of washing.

Day 30: Ouchies

I have a sore left foot today. Lord only knows what I've done to it. Honestly, it actually feels bruised on the sole up behind my little toe and the one next to it. So, I'm trying to walk on it today. 

I have been off the computer for the last week. I've mostly been writing in longhand. In saying that I should say I didn't get the book finished that I wanted, because another book completely was demanding to be written, and the sad thing is they book I'm writing in longhand is actually book three of a series. I haven't even finished the first two; but Alasdair (Dare) McGinty, and Kristen (Krush) Ushton wanted their story told.

I have a lot of stuff going on in my home life right now. So, I might be hit and miss for the next little bit. Also, when did groceries get so damn expensive? I don't know how they expect young people to pay rent, utilities, fuel in the car, and still afford to eat... Let alone if they have insurances of any kind.

On that note, I'm out of here... this book isn't going to write itself.

Day 29: Little Things

 

Today I had to run errands after school drop off. The important thing was going to the doctor and getting all of my mother's scripts refilled. She can't go without her medication.

I also did the grocery shopping... there was hardly anything on the shelves. but I got a majority of what I needed. I'm not feeling the best today. Not sick exactly, just off. I'll have to take it easy for a while. when I got home, I noticed one of my feet is starting to hurt.

Decided to try Kiev Balls for lunch. I'm not sure I liked them, but mum did, so I daresay we'll have them again at some stage. Luckily, for me they are just a sometimes food. I always try and figure out what I want to cook for the fortnight before I go shopping. So, I know what I need to buy food wise. I'm trying to shop smarter this year.

Other than that: I'm working in longhand on a Woden's Wolves MC story I have to go where my Muse takes me.
