All Cock & No Bull Blog Hop

Okay, I'm participating in this hop, and honestly I have no clue what I'm doing. So I hope you will all forgive me... In saying that here is what's happening Michael Marsden decided it would be best if I interviewed him...Seeing as he is the king and all. So I thought I would just do it to appease him. I borrowed these questions from someone else's blog when I promo'd over there. I hope you enjoy.

Interview with Michael Marsden
(The Lines of Marsden)

What do you hope reader's take away from this retelling of your story?
I hope people will come to learn that even though we are all different races and species. Underneath we are basically all the same. We all have our own insecurities that we have to deal with.

What is one thing your storyteller got right?
My author got right just how beautiful and special my Sweetness is. I think people all over the world could benefit from having their own Sweetness in their lives.

What is one thing your storyteller misrepresented?
Actually, she got wrong just how brave I am… I can tell you now—I’m just not that cool calm and collected.

If you could have changed one of your actions—just one—what would it be, and why?
I think we are the way we are for a reason… but if I could take back one thing it would be opening my damn mouth and proclaiming myself as king of the vampire legions—what the hell was I thinking?

Who would you want to play you in a movie-retelling of your story? Who would play your love interest?
Benj… only joking. Don’t tell him I said that. Gypsy and Babe would tell you Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Apparently we have the same lips—go figure.

What is a quote you live by?
Fool me once—shame on you. Fool me twice—shame on me. Fool me a third time—I’ll hunt you down and exact revenge.

Excluding your own, what is your favorite book?
Mainstream: anything by David Eddings.
LGBTQ: anything by Charlie Richards.

What would you have named your story?
What The Fuck… I find myself saying that more and more these days.

What event in your life would make a wonderful short-story addition to your story?
Probably all the crap I got up to between Babe being taken into his mind by Sebastian and Blake showing me how to get him back… It wasn’t a good time for me, and it won’t show me in a good light, but it would be interesting none the less. It would also show why I do some of the things I do.

Was there anything your storyteller left out that you’d like your fans to know?
Actually she pretty much got us spot on. Sweetness said we needed to be open and honest, or as Gypsy said we just had to let it all hang out for the world to see.

Were you reluctant to have your story told?
Honestly, I didn’t think I was that interesting. Hell, in my human years I had to have my sister be my bodyguard. Nowadays I’m quite willing to defend myself and everyone else I consider family.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I wish I could be stronger… instead of always second guessing myself.

Did your storyteller take any artistic liberties? If so, please set the story straight.
Yeah there is something that needs to be set straight, NJ didn’t make Gypsy anywhere as bossy as she is in real life—don’t tell Gyps I said that or she’ll kick my arse—again.

In what setting would you have preferred your story to have taken place?
Maybe on another planet, because seriously, this kind of shit doesn’t really happen on Earth, right?

Your storyteller told some pretty embarrassing tales about you. Is there any secrets you’d like to share about them?
No, because NJ still hasn’t finished writing my story… come back and ask me that question again after book 6 is written and released.

Your story is being made into a musical. What's the name of your song?
The River by Good Charlotte.

Pick a scene in your story. What song is playing in the background?
The scene where I see Doyle again for the first time in book 3: You Make Me Die In Pieces. So right now it would be a Nickelback songNever Going To Be Alone… this is what I was feeling when Sweetness couldn’t remember me and we always ended up fighting.

What is your favorite chapter of your story?
I don’t have one… an event I’ most grateful for is when Maffa bit Gypsy and converted her into a werewolf… It was when I realized she would be able to stay with me forever… Mind you, Babe was willing to convert her into a vampire if necessary.

If price was no consequence, what gift would you buy your love interest?
I would buy Sweetness the world.

What first attracted you to your love interest?
I don’t know… at first I didn’t see it all. I think it mainly snuck up like a gradual thing… then Gypsy told me to open up my eyes and see what was before me—that just happened to be Sweetness. Sometimes Gypsy’s bossiness is a good thing.

What surprises you most about your love interest?
I think Sweetness is the strongest person I know. Nothing ever phases him.

At what moment did you know you were in love?
As everyone will tell you—I’m pretty clueless about things like that. Like I said earlier—I had to be told.

If you could watch your love interest's childhood as a film, would you?
Yes, I would want to know everything about him in every incarnation of his life—as we found out recently we have lived and died through a few.

What is one moment in your love interest's life—before you met—you wish you could have experienced?
That’s a hard one… I don’t know really. Maybe I would like to see if he was as cute as a child as he was as a man. Maybe how he interacted with his family. Like I said I would like to know everything.

Put three items in a time capsule you will open in 25 years. What are your items?

1. A pictures of my whole family—both past and present.
2. Christian’s Grandfather’s ring. Maybe then it would keep Babe’s power out of the hands of others.
3. A list of all our names and job descriptions for all future generations. Just in case that stupid bitch, Venetia gets a lucky shot in, and we have to start our life cycles all over again.

HAHBAT - I Almost Forgot

So as you can all tell I almost forgot to do my post for this blog hop... But I suppose the old adage better late than never fits my situation. I won't go on about why I forgot just say if you want to know just read some of my previous posts.

Okay, now onto my post for this amazing blog... At this stage in my life i don't have a clue what I'm going to write about so I will go with the faithful rambling technique I've used in past years. I figure if it ain't broken then go with the flow.

The other day I was sitting at the local mall in the next city over - the kids were shopping and I was happy to sit with my kindle and read. In the end I got side tracked by people watching (come on I know I'm not the only one who participates in this activity)

Sitting across the way was this young same sex couple and I thought it was sweet the way they didn't seem to care about being in public as they sat together and cuddled in one of the chairs. I didn't see a problem with it at all. That was until other people started to comment and at first I was shocked, and then I was down right pissed, until in the end I spoke up and let them have it. Not the couple but all the bigoted arseholes that had decided they had the right to try and demean the younger couple.

The writer in me saw nothing wrong with the same sex affection. The mum in me wanted to defend the younger couple while the human in me decided to take control and tell people to shut the fuck up. At the time I was so sure I was right and stood up for my beliefs. Even though the younger couple thanked me and told me it's not the worst they have endured though really the bigotry is far and few between... The weird part is when I finally introduced myself they had actually read some of my work... Don't get me wrong, I was tickled pink, but so used to being a nobody that I was weirded out a bit.

Later on when I was at home I started to wonder if what I did was right. Should I have butted in and blew my stack at the rude strangers? Does that make me just like all of them. wasn't I trying to push my own beliefs onto them. After having an internal debate that lasted hours I thought FUCK IT!!! You know what, if I'm ever faced with the same situation. I know I'll do everything exactly the same way because I believe in EQUALITY. I believe just because you are wired to be a certain way when it comes to love, then who am I or anyone else to tell you it's wrong. It wasn't so long ago then interracial was frowned up - actually it probably still is in some places. Seriously I just want to kick the collective world up it's arse and tell everyone to wake up to them selves.

IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING NICE, THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP.

PRIZES: For stopping by I will be offering one copy of any of my back list for some lucky person who leaves a comment. All you have to do is leave your name, book title, and preferred format.  Secondly I will offer the same to people in my followers list. so if you let me know you are also follower you will be in both contests.

Prizes... Prizes... Prizes... Storming Love: Floods

Okay, I'm here today to share some information, which will lead you to prizes.

I'm going to tell you a bit behind the why of my story. I have lived through a couple of floods—one being a true horror.

For me I was lucky that a small rise in the road saved my suburb from disaster. The next town over (not even a minute down the road) copped the brunt of it and was classed as ground zero. Grantham basically got washed away—such death and destruction—both human, wildlife, and crops (we are a farming community known as the salad bowl)

The thing that stuck with me the most over the years is how something like a major flood, or any other natural disaster is how the community rallies afterward to get the place back to as normal as possible. Strangers working side by side—rich, poor, famous, everyday people all with the same goal in mind—clean up and rebuild.

AUTHOR BIOS
N.J. Nielsen:  NJ needs to write like she needs to breathe. It’s an addiction that she never intends to find a cure for. When you don’t find NJ arguing with Vlad, her muse or writing about the wonderful men in her stories, you’ll find her reading work by other authors she greatly admires. NJ lives in the SE of Qld, Australia with her family who all encourage her writing career even if she does occasionally call them by her character’s names. NJ thinks that anyone taking the time to read her stuff is totally awesome.

Jenn Dease: Jenn Dease is a Chef with a reading and writing addiction.  The six bookcases in her bedroom are proof of this.   She was born and raised in Pittsburgh with one of those families that have four generations in a four block radius.   The Redheads, or her sisters, are the best things in her life. When they want to be.

Jambrea Jo Jones:  Jambrea wanted to be the youngest romance author published, but life impeded the dreams. She put her writing aside and went to college briefly, then enlisted in the Air Force. After serving in the military, she returned home to Indiana to start her family. A few years later, she discovered yahoo groups and book reviews. There was no turning back. She was bit by the writing bug.

She enjoys spending time with her son when not writing and loves to receive reader feedback. She’s addicted to the internet so feel free to email her anytime.

AC Katt: She lives in New Mexico with her husband and new cat who, just as she does loves paper and words. She got a late start to her writing career but is now in a writing frenzy. Go figure!

Pelaam: Living in clean, green New Zealand Pelaam is a multi-published author of m/m romance and erotica. She’s loved writing since childhood and to become an author is a cherished dream come true. She grew up reading fairy tales and watching science fiction, horror and fantasy. When not writing she can be found indulging in her other passions of cookery and wine appreciation.

Cherie Noel: Cherie’s been in love with words since before she drew breath, and doesn’t see that ever changing. She write stories, full stop. Sometimes there’s music with them, sometimes they’re poems, and lately, to her great delight, a plethora of M/M fiction and erotic romance. Yum. Smexy man to the second…or third power…now that’s the kinda math Cherie can get behind!!

The hair curls or frizzes as it will, the eyes are green and tend to look in two different directions—no, really—and the rest is subject to change. You know the guy who didn’t know if he was a butterfly dreaming he was a man or a man dreaming he was a butterfly? Yeah, that’s Cherie, but substitute drag queen for butterfly and wacky, wild ex-Army chick for man.

Cyclone Marcia & Other Things

Okay, the news at the moment is Cyclone Marcia is going to make landfall between Yepoon and Rockhampton in the early hours of tomorrow morning before making it's way toward where I live. It's looks like a long way from where my home is situated, but it's predicted Toowoomba will get between 100—200 ml of rain, which will probably mean I will more than likely be flooded in again... Not to worry I live in an area where the water can't reach (hopefully) but it does cut off road access. Good news is if it gets bad my hubs and son (who will at school tomorrow) will have somewhere to stay should we get a flood. Emily lives in Toowoomba, but Uni Village is in an area that shouldn't flood.

Other News:
  1.  I had the worst night sleep ever... I don't know whether it was because I had new story ideas flooding my mind while I was trying to sleep, or if I was just having weird-arse dreamsand believe me they were weird as hell. Mind you I did write notes down each and every time I woke up. Once I figure out what the hell my brain was trying to tell me I will share it with you all.
  2. I'm also very close to be able to show you  new cover art by Tracey Soxie Weston for The Diamond Rose 1: Gateway To Kalethia... and I want to warn you all it is absolutely beautiful.
  3. I've been chatting with Erica Pike and it looks like we will be getting ready t set up for the next Hop Against Homophobia & Transphobia—we'll be giving a shout out for the sign up soon... so keep watching both the HAHAT Blog and the HAHAT Community Facebook Page.
  4. The Lines Of Marsden 3: You Make Me Die In Pieces is still coming along... and that's all I'm going to say about that.
  5. I'm thinking of writing something M/F just to see if I can do it—This is what I'm thinking about calling the series Quade's Crossing and the first book will be called Meghan's Way. Mind you a couple of books in the series will be M/Mso basically wondering what readers think of a M/F and M/M mixed series?

Hop Against Homophobia And Transgender...

This hop is meant for a good cause and I believe bringing awareness to the fact that not everyone is out with pitchforks in the medieval style hunt on all things that HAHAT stands for. Yes… people get ticked off that we offer give-aways and prizes, but to me this is just something we hoppers are doing to say thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read our thoughts on the matter.

So yes I am offering up to two people free copies from something from my back list in books. To gain such gifts all you need to do is leave me a comment with your contact details, and the name of the book should you be the lucky winner… you will be in the draw twice if you are in my followers list… so feel free to join my list of followers if you like...Also telling me that your also in my list might help too. Though, my major prize is a $25 Amazon Voucher… or… Bookstrand, as they are the only two places I know how to send out gift vouchers from. I’m old school so my winners will be picked by the never failing pull a name out of the hat method.

I think you should all check out for yourselves the website for the International Day Against Homophobia And Transphobia they can explain things so much better than I ever could. They have important information if you have the time to take a moment to navigate their site and read what’s on offer. You can eve find them on their facebook page IDAHAT—The Global Page

Also I think it’s a fantastic idea for you to go and check out all the other wonderful people who are taking part in this hop here is the HAHAT blog where you can find links to everyone else…

Now for my actual post: Bear with me as I have a tendency to ramble—a lot. Those of you who visited my site last year will already know this about me.

I’m a big believer in all people are created equal. I also believe we should all have equal rights when it comes to marriage or just the laws in general. I never understood how certain people think it’s okay to make rules and provide judgement on people they don’t even know—seems idiotic to me.

Having said that think we should discuss what phobias against any sort of sexual orientation means. To me love is love and what package the person comes in shouldn’t matter.

I have a couple of friends where after meeting these men they didn’t feel comfortable telling me they were gay—even though I had already guessed the first day I met them. I didn’t push them for confirmation on their sexuality preferring them to come to tell me naturally—more than likely after they had gauged my reaction. Truthfully I didn’t mind at all.

Eventually they told me, but it wasn’t until after they found out what sort of books I write—MM paranormal and romance. I’ve never been one to hide away what I do. Mind you, I can understand why there is that need for some. I’m more the take me as I am and I will return the favour.

I think as individuals the human race is smart but sling s all together and we form mob mentality… and too willingly follow the lead of others even if they are raving bigots. So I’m telling you for the love of Mike—grow a set, and make up your own minds about people. Don’t get your hate on just because some drongo tells you, you should. No one knows you better than you do yourself so why in the hell would you listen to what people who don’t think you fit what they believe is normal… again I have to say, who the hell are they to decide?

One of the things I can’t stand is people who spout bullshit for religious reason against Homosexuals, Lesbians, Transgender, and Queergendered people. Honestly, unless Jesus/Allah/Buddha or any other religious entity turns up on my doorstep to tell me differently, then I’m never going to believe such loving people would never turn against someone all because of who they choose to love. The mere thought to me is inconceivable.

If only one thing comes out of this hop—I hope it’s that you might be able to see people as no better and no worse than you are. Maybe even smile at a person because you never know when a smile or a kind word of understanding could stop a tragedy from occurring. Too many times we have heard of people ending their own existence because of how people look down on them and speak in hatred just because their sexual orientation doesn’t fit the norm. Seriously, what is normal anyway?

Am I normal? Not hardly… but that’s the thing that makes the world so wonderful. If we all were the same then life would become boring—we need the diversity each and every one of us offers… just to make life a tad more interesting.

I’m not gay… nor am I a lesbian… I’m not transgender… or even queergender… what I am is human. I don’t think I’m a better person than anyone else I meet. I’m happy to take you as you are as long as you are honest with me—and yourself. I think what I’m trying to say here is be who you are… more so be proud of who you are. Don’t let anyone get you down because they’re too blind to see what a truly wonderful person you are. When life gets too much always remember that’s somewhere in a little part of Queensland, Australia, there’s a person who has your back. We may never meet face to face or even talk to each other in any way shape or form. Just know that I believe in you… I think you are perfect just the way you are.

You are truly meant to shine—not conform to the wants of others.

Thank you all for taking the time to stop by my blog and reading what I have to say. You may not agree with me, but I think you are all awesome anyway.
