Done & Dusted

NaNoWriMo
50,352 Words

Wrote the last words on Misty River 1: The Calm to My Storm at 3pm today. I felt amazing. So now I can focus on my last two stories for the year... I'm actually feeling pretty good about getting this done now. I'll go back at a later date to polish it into a proper manuscript.

On an even better brighter note, I finally found the missing plot notes on Rebel Rousers MC 1: Sin With A Grin. and a partial for #2: Broken Winged Angel. Trust me when I replotted #1 & #2 they are completely different.

If I Was Smarter

I woke up this morning and could have slapped my own head. Why you ask? Because it hit me at 34K into my NaNoWriMo, if I was smarter, I would have started writing a story that actually had something to do with one of the four series I plan on writing next year. It would have at least gotten one of the books off of my list. But, did I? No, not me. I'm writing the first book in a completely different series.

I'm just going to blame it on the fact that I was excited to be writing again that I didn't even think through my plans all that well. And, this isn't even a series I can incorporate into next year's lot, because all of those ones will eventually cross paths.

My ears are still out of whack, but I'm headed to the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some antibiotics & drops to clear everything up. At least they're not hurting, they just feel weird... but I'm used to it as I've had bad ears my whole life.

My mum is 89 and she got a bee in her bonnet yesterday, and I had to put up our Christmas decorations for her. Not that we have a lot because we have two cats (Oliver and Robson) who would just shred anything too elaborate. Especially, Robson, he's my devil cat.

Okay, I'm off now to get some more writing done.

I Feel Like Sh!t Today

I feel like total sh!t today. My ears are out of whack. At the moment it is only in the right one, but that could all change. On top of that, all my bones seem to be aching. Especially, in the lower part of my spine.

So today, I have been taking things very slowly. I have been a little dizzy each time I move. I'm going to the doctor on Tuesday, for my bi-annual check-up. I'll figure what's the go then. Until Tuesday, I'll just take it easy.

At least I did manage to write some on NaNoWriMo to keep my daily writing in check. And I worked out what I want to try and work on for next year WIPS wise... I've chosen 4 series that will crossover throughout, the year. They should keep me busy. Plus, I'll still write my one The Connelly Chronicles 4: Just Good Friends to keep that story going.  The 4 series I'll work on will be as follows:

Brother McCrieve MC (6 books)
Mountain Made (6 books)
Quaide's Crossing (6 books)
Rebel Rousers MC (6 books)

Just When I thought...

Just when it looked like we were at the end of unloading all the topsoil. My sister-in-law and I decided to start on the next project. Which has us unloading ute loads more until we are once more done... By the time 2022 gets here our yard is going to look completely different (in a good way).

I'm at 10K on my NaNoWriMo project> Misty River 1: Calm in the Storm. I'm happy that I am a little ahead of schedule there. It's getting me back into the swing of writing. So I know if I can get this done, then I can definitely finish The Connelly Chronicles 3: Because of You by December 31st

I have to duck downtown this morning and pick up a few groceries for both parts of our household. I want to get there before it gets too hot for walking. I enjoy my time as I walk downtown as it gives me a chance to sort through some of the issues my characters are having in their stories and trust me right now they have some issues...LOL.

I'm still getting myself organised to begin writing fully in 2022. I'm trying to set everything up so that it's easier on me. I really want to reach all of my writing goals in 2022. Not that I know what they are as yet. I'll let you know as soon as I do. When I do I'll once more use my WordPress blog purely as my writing blog.

NaNoWriMo.

This year for NaNoWriMo, I'm writing the first draft of my new series Misty River 1: Calm in the Storm. This is the book I'm feeling at the moment. My main characters are Travis Hendrix & Carli Voss. I'm happy to announce that on day two I'm ahead in my wordage. Let's hope it stays that way.

My draft will be written in scenes and then at the end, I'll go back and link them all together in the right sequence. So the story makes sense. In my head, it makes perfect sense. I just need it to do the same for my readers.

Still working on cleaning out my Dropbox. It feels like a never-ending job some days. Just when I think I have a plan of action, something comes along to derail it. I absolutely hate it being so cluttered and disorganized.

It's all overcast here again today, so we might be in for some more rain. At least I managed to get the mowing done. We also got all the topsoil down in preparation for the new sod which is coming tomorrow. The yard will look so different grassed again, and not all patchy.

On that note, I will away as I need to get back and do some more writing. Talk to you all again soon.

On Hold...

My NaNoWriMo came to a halt yesterday because I had to do a little bit of research. Funnily enough, it's with the first book I ever wrote for NaNoWriMoWatson Falls 1: Between One Heartbeat & the Next. Something that is happening in my current book relates to that one and I have to go back and see what the go was. Just so it all makes sense. I hope to finish Sons of Evenmore 3: Fear the Scarlet Moon today as planned. If not I'll come pretty damn close.

NaNoWriMo & Other Things...

Well as everyone knows NaNoWriMo started yesterday. So, not a good time to get sick. I came down with the same 72-hour virus that has been making its way through our house. Not fun at all. I had trouble adding my word count━basically, I had to delete my project and re-enter it so that I could get the word count button, so I add my words for each day. At least it's working now.

I think we have finally solved the whole no wardrobe situation at the kid's house. This weekend they are picking up the second-hand wardrobe sets that they bought 9 pieces for $315. It'll do the whole house.

I can't believe how fast this year has flown by. 2020 will be here before we know it. That gives me a little while to work out a plan for the next year. I have my writing plan set. I just need to get my life plan set out. I don't want to get to the end of next year and feel as worn out as I do this year━if that makes sense.

Though I am excited, my Tae-Bo DVD's finally arrived so I can get back into my exercising again. I don't know what happened to my last ones. They just seemed to disappear on me. I bet someone borrowed them and just never returned them to me. Typical! Once I stop being sick I will start getting back into it.

Man, I have a headache today. I'm hoping this is just a side symptom of the virus and not a lingering thing. I haven't had a bad headache/migraine since being on my migraine medication, and I don't want it to start all over again.

I've Been Busy...

Yesterday I spent the day making up a calendar template that I can use each year to set out my writing for the year. I worked out that if I work on 2K a day I can write 2 (100K) novels and 15 (40K) novellas a year. that still leaves time for doing edits. I'm happy with that. Now it just means sticking to it. I'll try it out for the end of this year.

This is what I'll be working on:
The Connelly Chronicles 3: Because of You
Cotter's Girls 1: Tash (M/F)
Sons of Evenmore 3: Fear the Scarlet Moon (NaNoWriMo)
Wardens of the Guild 3: Heart Strings (NaNoWriMo-partly)
Lancaster's Way 3: Pre-loved
Experimentals 3: Messages from the Dead (just the start as it continues into 2020)

So Far I've been keeping up with my word count along with doing my edits on other books. The big test will be when I get first edits back on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses. I'll let you all know.

Update Time

My first week of NaNoWriMo has been a bust... I have a bloody double ear infection. I have been on drops and antibiotics that make me queasy as hell. so I've hardly eaten in the last week. I went back to the Dr yesterday and it's no better... so today I'm off to the ear specialist in Ipswich. I'm so not looking forward to that... but if I want to be clear-headed anytime soon I know it's where I have to go. I can tell you for the last week I've had the worst bloody headache. I will keep you updated on how I go at the specialists this arvo. Fingers crossed that it's not something major.

Willow is still looking for Droogie, and not eating as much as I'd like, but at least she's not starving as I'd feared she was doing.

Emily and Elliot are mostly moved into their new place... only the unpacking to go. So glad that it's them and not me. I hate moving house... it's when we realise just how much useless crap we have collected over the years.

NaNoWriMo Starts Today

EXPERIMENTALS 3
Messages From The Dead

&

EXPERIMENTALS 4
Movements In The Dark

I have to do a combination of the both to make up the 50k necessary

Monday 2 October 2017

NaNoWriMo

I just signed up for NaNoWriMo for 2017... Experimentals 3: Messages From The Dead, and Experimentals 4: Movements In The Dark (well part thereof of #4 just to make up the 50K).

This will be my platform to get back into writing. Hopefully, nothing else will happen to throw me off track. I actually like writing NaNoWriMo as it is fun writing to the 30-day timeline and trying to get everything completed by the due date.

Wednesday 6 September 2017

Let's Play Catch Up

I've been slack lately and I really don't have a reason why. I can blame it on the renovations, but let's face it they really only happen on Sundays & Mondays. Lately, I've just been hanging out with my cats... Droogie is looking a little worse for wear. they're both getting up there in age, but Droogie is actually showing it more than Willow. I think he'll be the first to go... it will be a sad day as he is my baby.

I haven't been doing much writing as I would like, as I've been concentrating on reading the Rainbow Award books that I have to get through. I have a ton of them and I don't want to fall behind. I have to send in at least 10 of them today. I've had quite the variety this time around... some better than others, and some that I have absolutely loved from start to finish.

Life for the family is good in general... Emily still has morning sickness, but that is to be expected. All is still looking okay on the baby front. I'll keep you all posted the closer we get to my grandbaby arriving into the world.

NaNoWriMo is getting closer with each passing day... I think I have a plan kind of set in place for what I want to write for the month. Let's all pray that I can stick to it and not stray too far from the track. At this stage, I'm still planning to work on the next 2 books in the Sons of Evenmore series.

Where The Hell...

Okay... I have searched my Dropbox, every memory stick, and even my external hard drive... and I seem to have lost the first 10K of Experimentals 3:Messages From The Dead. that I wrote for NaNoWriMo back in 2015... so when I start NaNoWriMo this year I'll have to start from the beginning... On a good note, I did find in my cleaning up, my hand written synopsis for Messages From The Dead... I just don't know how someone who is as anal retentive as I am about keeping track of shit could lose a story.

Last night I did take the time to take a couple of hours to skim through both #1: Blessed With A Curse, & #2: Running Into Zero Tolerance, and wrote down all the character names getting ready for the big write in November... when I'll be writing 3 & 4: Movements In The Dark back to back. To get both done, I need to write 2,667 words per day for November.

As you can see, I've made it to 5K in The Diamond Rose 2: So Pretty On The Outside... I won't be writing today as I have a family BBQ to attend today... it's going to be fun. The story so far is heading where I thought it might. Though, it's not exactly about who I thought it would be the main characters. At first, I thought it wold be about Tori & Darkan/Goliath... turns out I was wrong. It's two years later, and it's now about Wynn & Teagan... But I'm still hoping you will enjoy the read.

I'm at a standstill on The Lines Of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses... but only until my glasses come back. Because, I know once I start back on it, I won't want to stop, and I can't do that with fuzzy lenses.

I'll also be starting soon on Wardens Of The Guild 3: Heart Strings... but again I'm just waiting on the glasses. I'll have to go and do the whole write down all the character names for this one too. I'm really bad at forgetting names.

Still no news on Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go... but hopefully I will hear from Fireborn Publishing soon.

BAS Is Done & Other Things

I have one major lot of BAS still to do in the beginning of 2016 for: October-December 2015. and then that will be the last of it until EOY tax time in July... I can't wait. I feel like I have been doing taxes non-stop since 2007.

The hubs is getting gear together to take back to New Zealand with him when he goes. Big job, but it has to be done. At least we got some of the renovations done around the house and about a third of our fencing put up. Mind you he's here for another 2 weeks.

I have a major arse-kicking headache today, which I'm assuming is basically from spending all day doing Taxes yesterday... Except for the two hours where I had to go to Officeworks in Toowoomba and buy a flatbed Canon: CanoScan Lide 120 just to be able to scan all dockets and crap for my book keeper to deal with.

Today I'm still working on sorting out the files on my computer so I can make a fresh start in 2016. Some stories I've just deleted while others I've made notes on and filed them away in my BACK BURNER file. These are the stories that I'll eventually get back to one day... I don't have a set plan for 2016... but I'm hoping to at least get 12 books out to you all.

For the rest of 2015, I'll be concentrating on NaNoWriMo (Somebody Told Me: 30K, & Day Walkers 1: The Real You 20K) and finishing off The Connelly Chronicles 2: Beautiful Goodbyes. Hopefully I will be able to get it all done and completed on time... WISH ME LUCK.

Being Sick, Family, & Updates

I have a Summer cold... actually, I have an Autumn cold, (still not fun however you look at it).

Why is it when you're so damn crook you can hardly see straight, the family decides they need all of you attention right now?

All I want to do is go at my own pace, and not be rushed into crap, or have to get up and do stuff for other people because their arms and legs are obviously broken and they can't possibly do shit for themselves. (Oh, is my sarcasm coming out? Sorry... Not!) Family... can't live with them and can't hurt them, or you end up in jail for life.

Okay now for the updates:

1- The Lines Of Marsden 3: You Make Me Die In Pieces... I have 6 chapters to write. Chapters 11-14 are with my beta reader James A. So soon I'll find out how he likes the story twist... and more importantly if it makes sense.

2- Hollow's Trouble... My DRitC is next in line for me, as is, The Connelly Chronicles 2: Beautiful Goodbyes.

3- Eternally Bound... Will probably be put on the back burner until NaNoWriMo 2015.

Updates...

I'm still trying to get everything done before I get started on NaNoWriMo. I'm actually excited about it this year... fingers crossed that nothing gets in the way. For once the whole family seems healthier than usual and I'm hoping it stays that way.

I know most people are aiming for the 50K NaNo requires for a success, but I'm personally aiming for 70K as I need to get two novellas finished.

December is all Michael & Doyle with a touch of Benj & Christian thrown in for good measure. The boys from The Lines Of Marsden want their time in the light again and the next instalment of their lives to be told. so I better get it into MLRPress

On other MLRPress news I have to quickly write Lancaster's Way 3: Pre-Loved, which is the next book. I want to show everyone the wonderful cover Deana Jamroz is making to put aside for me... I love it.

January 2015 is time for The Connelly Chronicles 2: Beautiful Goodbyes with Totally Bound Publishing...

Fireborn Publishing news still no news on The Diamond Rose 1: Gateway to Kalethia... but not expecting any for a while, and still in edits on Moon Runners 1: Heart-mate, Mine! I so can't wait to show you the cover on that one it's beautiful Jess Buffett did an amazing job. So you can see I will be a busy little bee for the next little bit.

Tuesday 28 October 2014

What's Happening Next?

Okay, first on my list is NaNoWriMo... This November I have to do two stories - I know this is allowable as I have done it in other years.

STORMING LOVE (30K)
Adrain & Lockie

EXPERIMENTALS (20 out of 40K)
2: Running Into Zero Tolerance

Then in December I'm dedicating the whole month to one of my favourite stories to write.

THE LINES OF MARSDEN (110K)
3: You Make Me Die In Pieces

Tuesday 15 July 2014

Random Thoughts On What's Next...

I'm at that time in my life where my brain knows I have so much I still need to get done by the end of the year but my body is like FUCK IT! I need a vacation.

My mind is restless at the moment as I have three things I am trying to finish and I keep getting side-tracked by The Lines Of Marsden 3: You Make Me Die In Pieces... as much as I tell myself it's not time yet I have a ton of hand written scene's written up that just need to be smoothly linked together.

I've already have one person tweet me and tell me they loved my Goodreads story: Trying Not To Love You... I hope others feel the same way... I mean, I hope they enjoy the story.

Speaking of GoodReads stories... I think I'm going to re write book 1: Shadows On The Heart... lengthen it, and then give it back to Goodreads as a free story... I'll probably write book 2: On The Flipside Of Reverse, & book 3: Following The Aftermath and give them to Goodreads as free stories as well. At least that's my train of thought this week. Let me know what you all think?

Can you believe there's only 77 days until NaNoWriMo starts for 2014... where has the year gone? I swear it only feels like yesterday we were all celebrating the new year. When in fact in 138 days we'll be celebrating the next new year. I'm still trying to work out what I'll feel like working on for NaNoWriMo... I have so many choices but no idea which one I'll choose.

On that note I will away as I have some questions to answer for a promotional thing I have to do toward the end of the month...Later Gates.
