Happy New Year & Welcome To 2015

Well it’s the start of another year and I’m feeling much better than I have for the last month. My Ross River Fever is almost gone again and my brain feels like it can actually work, and think straight again.

Let’s play catch up for a bit… My son Ethan is entering into the great adventure know as grade nine… My Hubs is still running our construction company we co-own… Emily has moved out of home and is getting ready to start her Bachelor of Arts (majoring in music & business) at USQ… Mum is still mum and enjoying the summer of cricket (okay, I may be enjoying it as well)… As for me I’m ready to star my next year in the world of writing.

These are written in no particular order—but are what I have promised to work on in 2015—the only one I know I’m working on at a certain time is TLOM 4 as I want to start that for NaNoWriMo this year.

The Lines Of Marsden 3: You Make Me Die In Pieces
The Lines Of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses
Sons Of Evenmore 3: Fear The Scarlet Moon
Sons Of Evenmore 4: Same Thing In Reverse
Lancaster’s Way 3: Pre-Loved
Lancaster’s Way 4: Riding Fences
Toowoomba Boys 4: Securing The Heart
Experimentals 3: Messages From The Dead
Hidden Hearts 1: Hello Lonely
Hidden Hearts 2: One Last Kiss Goodbye (Re write)
Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go
The Diamond Rose 2: Sometimes it Hurts
The Connelly Chronicles 2: Beautiful Goodbyes
Spam Inc 1: Claiming Roxby’s Heart
The Gaean Prophecy 1: Broken Serenity
The Soul Guardians 1: Loving Callum McKenzie

Other than that I’m going to live life and enjoy it… my words of advice to everyone for 2015 is this: “If you can’t say something nice, then shut the hell up!”

Guest Blogger ~ Eva Lefoy: Double The Fantasy

Okay, here’s something about me that will tell you more about my brain than you might realize. There are exactly 2—yep, 2!—movies for which I know just about every single line. One is Blade Runner. The other is Young Frankenstein.

If your eyes just popped out of your head trying to find the similarities between those two movies, don’t bother! It only makes sense to me! LOL

I’m not a movie fanatic, but I have to say that one of the last few times I went to the theater, an idea hatched quietly in a secret corner of my mind. It fermented there for a little while and then later, when I was least expecting it, it turned into a full-on male fantasy piece. Having two girls at once is every man’s fantasy, right? Well, my character Ted gets to have that fantasy come true at the movies.

Ted goes to the theater alone to watch the latest outer-space flick. He just gets settled in with his popcorn when the movie changes—dramatically!—to a girl-on-girl porno. Now, this isn’t a professional job, it’s an amateur flick, with real life people. Normal looking girls getting hot and bothered all over each other. For Ted, it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Until the woman sitting in front of him moans….

And the rest came right out of my dirty yet easily amused imagination.

Ted’s quiet Monday night at the movies turns erotic when he’s seduced by a lesbian couple who make his ultimate fantasy of having two women at once come true. When they call him a few weeks later, he’s stunned to find out the duo staged the entire event and one of them is pregnant. But that’s not all. Their gorgeous female friend is offering him special compensation for his services, if he’s willing to pay her price.

Only when he discovers Charleen harbors a secret fantasy even hotter than two women together is he ready to drop his guard and provide for her every kinky need even if it will cost him his heart. Then at his wedding reception, the women drop another bombshell, and give Ted one more night of double fantasy he’ll never forget.

Excerpt:
Holy fuck. In the dim light, I see the straps of her dress slip off her shoulders and since it’s a low V-neck number and I see no bra straps, I suspect her breasts are now exposed. She might be touching them, fondling them as she watches the movie. She might even have one hand lower, stroking her clit. So turned on by the idea and, made brazen by the dim lighting, I slowly and quietly unzip my pants.

Within seconds, my cock slips out of confinement. There’s plenty of moisture seeping from the tip to ease my stroking, so I lean back in the seat to take my time. I don’t dare look behind me to see if the woman up there can view my indiscretions. I’d rather not be doing this in public, but I’m driven by primal need. About the time I settle into the lesbian flic and find a nice slow rhythm, the woman in front of me stands and turns around.

She’s totally naked, not even wearing underwear. Definitely no bra.

Holy fucking hotness.

My breath stutters as she sashays up the aisle to stand by my chair, looking down at my crotch where my hand is covering my crank. She licks her lips and flashes a wide smile that makes my insides flutter. “May I have a taste?”

Stunned, I look up at her, my mouth open but no words coming out.

She takes the initiative and kneels before me, her slim form nestling between my thighs. With her delicate hand she brushes mine aside. Her light head moves down until her mouth touches my cock, then she licks my weeping slit. “Mmm.”

I’m so ready to have this and yet so reeling from shock I can’t even form a coherent thought. Amazed, I watch her fingers stroke my length and her lips form a teasingly hot O. Then she warps them around the swollen bulb, and lavishes it with attention using her tongue. The moist, soft heat of her mouth hits me at the same time the movie moans get louder. I glance up to see the blonde finger-fucking the Asian woman’s wet pussy. My balls cinch tight. It won’t take much more of a scene like that to make them blow.

Mystery woman sucks hard on my cockhead, glancing at me from under her lashes to gauge my reaction. Her eyes are full of mischief and desire. A heady combination for any man, more so for me. When was the last time I even had a blow job? Hell, I’d pretty much existed in a state of desperation for the last several years. The blonde swallows, sucking me toward the back of her throat, and moans.

I grip the chair arms, my hips surging up into her sensuous mouth on automatic pilot. It feels so good the base of my cock is tingling and my balls are tight as stone. My attention wavers between the sounds coming from the movie screen and the blonde’s hollowed cheeks as she slides up and down my shaft. I’m seconds from shooting when she stops and I let out a long distressed groan. Was this all some kind of elaborate tease? I knew it was too good to be true.

Ha! Poor Ted. Find out what happens next in Double the Fantasy, out now from Smashwords, Amazon and All Romance EBooks. I guarantee you it won’t be the end of the show!

Letting Go

Coming to other online stores in January 2015.

Hello everyone. First of all, thank you for having me here today to talk about the final book in my Heavenly Sins trilogy. It has been a long time in coming, but it is finally available for those who want to read the conclusion of Tristan, Mac and Alastor’s story.

When I started this series I had no idea the story was going to be anything other than a short novella. That was the intention, but my characters had other ideas. They took over completely and their story became longer and longer until finally it is coming to an end. What started as a novella became three novels. I am still not entirely sure how that happened, but that’s a topic for another blog post.

This is my first series/serial story to finish and I have to admit that I am finding it a little difficult to let my characters go. Even though I have tied up all the loose ends that need to be, I keep wondering if perhaps I could revisit them one day in the future.

I wonder if my boys, as I like to think of them, will have any more trouble sent in their direction, or whether they will get the life they always wanted. Maybe there is more to be told. Perhaps another enemy will arise with the intention of separating them, or maybe one of them will decide they want out of the relationship. There are countless possibilities – especially when in the paranormal genre, not even death means a definite end to the story.

But I know I need to stop it and let these characters go. I am afraid I am just as bad as a reader, but then I have no choice. If an author I am reading finishes a series, then yes, it is finished whether I want it to end or not. As a writer I have a little more say in the matter. Or at least that is what I tell myself.

Yet even as I type this I have another angel and demon whispering in my ear right now. Actually I have several demons, angels and mortals pestering me these days. But there are two who are being quite persistent and who are telling me they want their story to be told. So there is a chance that at some point over the next couple of years there will be a fourth Heavenly Sins story from me.

I am making an effort not to listen to them though. With so many stories in my head, it’s time to let someone else take the limelight and concentrate on my newly started Mermen & Magic series.

Maybe it is only me who has trouble letting go of characters. Somehow, I suspect this isn’t the case and that there are other writers out there who find it hard to bring an end to a series.

For those who have not yet met my angels and demons, the reading order for the series is as follows.

Between Heaven & Hell
Between Good & Evil
Between Life & Death

And at least now they are all available, no one is going to be left waiting for the next instalment. So if angels and demons are something you are interested in, please say hello to Mac, Alastor and Tristan.

Thanks again for having me here today and I hope everyone is having a happy and safe holiday season.

Blurb:
With one of his lovers imprisoned in the Underworld, Mac has no choice except to go where most angels fear to tread.

With Tristan imprisoned in the Underworld, the ménage is broken. Angels are forbidden to enter the demonic domain and while Mac has been breaking rules in recent months, he doesn’t have the power to enter the Underworld.

Alastor is still unsure about his position in the relationship following recent revelations, but he cannot walk away when he is the only real link between his two lovers. Splitting his time between Mac and Tristan, he hopes they can soon find a way to reunite the two men in his life.

As time moves on, Alastor realizes he is struggling to satisfy Tristan’s thirst for sex. His lover needs more than he can give him and craves Mac in his bed.

Mac still believes he can complete his mission to save his two lovers, but with one of them out of his reach, it is going to be far from easy.

During their time together they have made plenty of enemies, including one who would seek to separate them forever, even if it means biding his time until Alastor and Tristan are at their most vulnerable, when even the love of an angel can’t save them.

Excerpt:
Lucifer continued to poke around the room while Tristan did his best to ignore him. Eventually he stepped into the path of the demon and glared at him. “Are you done?”

“You really shouldn’t be so rude to me,” Lucifer chided. “I’m here to help you.”

“Help me?” Tristan shook his head and rolled his eyes. “Help me, he says.”

“Who else is suitably qualified to guide you through your first days as our new king?”

“What makes you think I need your help?”

Lucifer smiled, clearly unfazed by Tristan’s attitude. “Even now the throne room is filling up with the leaders of each of the factions of demons, all here to bow down before you and swear their loyalty.”

“You’re joking.”

“Well, most of them will probably want to kill you and take your place, if truth be told, but they generally wait until after the banquet is over.”

Tristan dropped into one of the soft leather chairs. “This is going to be a disaster.”

“Not if you let me guide you.”

“Why are you so keen to help me? What difference does it make to you who’s king?”

“I don’t care who sits on the throne, but I do like to ensure our new kings are settled in as soon as possible. That way I can turn my attention back to more pleasurable activities.”

Tristan cast a glance toward the wall where the entrance to his rooms had been. “How do I even get out into the throne room again?”

“Just walk toward the entrance and imagine the doorway opening for you.”

Tristan took a step forward and the entrance began to form. The most powerful demons in the Underworld congregated just on the other side of the wall. Shit!

Guest Blogger ~ Charlie Cochrane: The Best Corpse For The Job

The story that refuses to behave...

“The Best Corpse for the Job” was my first contemporary romantic cosy mystery, although not my first mystery per se. I’ve got a running series, the Cambridge Fellows mysteries, set in the early twentieth century. So I guess it was natural for people to ask me whether “Best Corpse” would be the start of a whole new series, my answer to which was a definite “maybe”. I’d hate to commit myself, even in passing, to something I couldn’t definitely deliver.

But the idea nagged at me, although I didn’t have any burning ideas for a new mystery for Detective Inspector Robin Bright and his newly acquired boyfriend, Adam Matthews, to investigate. Then I remembered. The dreaded WIP. I’d better explain. I have a story I started maybe five years ago, which I keep getting out, poking at and putting back again. I’ve no idea how many times I’ve revised the first few chapters to perfection, then given up. I even gave it a major overhaul, changing some of the key details of the storyline to try to kick start it, but without success. Those of you who are authors will quite possibly be nodding sympathetically at this point as I suspect many of us have such a problem story in our vaults.

What was the problem with this WIP? Too much/too difficult specific research needed for the setting I was using, maybe. Unconvincing storyline and main characters, possibly. Lack of an overarching story arc, the sort of thing you could put into a one-line “elevator pitch”. Quite likely a combination of all of those.

Then I had a bright (excuse pun) idea. That WIP could be cannibalized effectively to provide a new story for Robin and Adam, combining elements from the original storyline and a character from the major revision. So far so good, although it’s only early days. At least I feel I can actually finish it, this time. So, Norma, I have to ask, have you got a story that refuses to behave?

Blurb:
Tea and sympathy have never been so deadly.
Schoolteacher Adam Matthews just wants to help select a new headteacher and go home. The governors at Lindenshaw St Crispin’s have already failed miserably at finding the right candidate, so it’s make or break this second time round. But when one of the applicants is found strangled in the school, what should have been a straightforward decision turns tempestuous as a flash flood in their small English village.

Inspector Robin Bright isn’t thrilled to be back at St. Crispin’s. Memories of his days there are foul enough without tossing in a complicated murder case. And that handsome young teacher has him reminding himself not to fraternize with a witness. But it’s not long before Robin is relying on Adam for more than just his testimony.

As secrets amongst the governors emerge and a second person turns up dead, Robin needs to focus less on Adam and more on his investigation. But there are too many suspects, too many lies, and too many loose ends. Before they know it, Robin and Adam are fighting for their lives and their hearts.

Excerpt:
As if on cue, the rozzers—it had to be the police, Adam thought, as no other grey-suited individuals would be lurking around the school—came through it.

“Ah, Inspector Bright,” Victor said. “We were just wondering when you’d be here to tell us what’s going on.”

“A murder enquiry’s going on.” The inspector’s voice preceded him into the room.

Christine clasped her hands to her mouth. “Murder? Oh . . .”

The inspector appeared, nodding sympathetically. “I’m afraid so. Which means we’ll need to get a statement from each one of you before you can go.”

If the policeman said anything else, Adam didn’t quite catch it. He was feeling confused enough, so to have—Wright, Bright, what the hell had Victor said his name was?—walk through the door looking like that sent his thoughts off in ten directions. Policemen weren’t supposed to be so tall, dark, and stupidly handsome. Apart from in Adam’s fantasies.

Oliver’s voice interrupted the unwanted germination of some inappropriate thoughts in Adam’s brain. “Perhaps you could take Mrs. Probert’s statement first? She has two small children at the school, and they’ll need her to pick them up at the end of the lessons.” His unexpected thoughtfulness earned him one of Christine’s stunning smiles.

“Happy to oblige,” the inspector said with kindness.

Why did Adam never seem to meet blokes who reacted to his smile the way they reacted to Christine’s? Why couldn’t this policeman favour him with a flash of those dark eyes?

“Perhaps you could come along now, Mrs. Probert, and my sergeant could take you through things?” The sergeant looked like that was the best news he’d heard all day. “Anyone else need to get away urgently?”

For a moment—only a moment—Adam felt like shouting, Take me, take me now! but this was serious business. Was it defiance or denial in the face of sudden death that made him feel like behaving like a schoolboy? Or was it simply the incongruity of somebody like the inspector walking through the door? Instant chemistry, that’s what they called it, but he’d never come across such a sensation before. It was the romantic equivalent of being hit over the head with a sock full of wet sand.

Then he remembered why the police were here—Youngs’s body, those awful teeth—and felt sick again.

Guest Blogger ~ L.M. Brown: One Perfect Wish

How do you think you’d manage?

Hello and thank you for letting me visit here today. I hope everyone is having a lovely and safe holiday season.

I am here today to introduce you to Cameron and Scott, the two heroes in my brand new novella, One Perfect Wish and to talk about the predicament Scott finds himself in, and how you think you would manage if you were placed in the same position.

Scott Baxter a workaholic with no time for love. Used to working in a high pressure job he is no stranger to the task of thinking on his feet. This is a talent that comes in particularly useful when he finds himself playing the role of husband to Cameron. After all, convincing a total stranger that you are the man they have known for years isn’t easy.

Imagine for a moment you were in the position Scott finds himself in. You not only don’t know the man you are married to, you won’t even know your way around the house. You’d have no idea what is kept in what cupboard or how your lover takes his coffee (or even if he drinks it). Unless you’re a mind reader you’d soon be struggling.

As for leaving the house – you might not even know the way to the local shop.

Every word you speak could potentially give you away. You might suddenly stop using a pet name for your partner. You might ask who someone your lover mentions is, when in fact you should already know.

Then there is the whole sex with a stranger issue. For Scott this isn’t much of a problem, at least not while he is viewing the whole day as a form of one night stand. But many people would be reluctant to hop into bed with a stranger just like that.

Thankfully for Scott, he has a little help from the djinn who has landed him in this position. And when the djinn isn’t offering useful information, he has his own wits to get him through the day.

But how do you think you would do?  Would you be able to convince a stranger you are their husband or wife?  Or would that wish be shattered within minutes of your arrival?

I suspect I would not be up to the task myself!

~ L.M. Brown

Blurb:
Playing the part of another man’s husband to fulfil a wish is easy, but what happens at midnight when the magical day is over?

Scott Baxter is a workaholic with no time for love, until a djinn pulls him out of his life and deposits him into the bed of Cameron Kirk. Cut off from his life, Scott isn’t happy about the idea of being forced to help the djinn grant an unspecified wish, but he soon finds he has no real choice in the matter. The djinn, who has turned his life upside down, has powers that prevent Scott from leaving and ensure he does nothing to ruin Cameron’s day with his ‘husband’.

Reluctant at first, Scott finds that as the day progresses he starts to enjoy playing the role of Cameron’s husband. He connects with his unexpected lover in a way he never has with other men.

Scott searches for clues to help him track down Cameron after the day is over and he returns to his own life. He doesn’t want the day to end, but the wish is out of his control and when the magic is finished his time with Cameron may be over too.

Excerpt:
Scott Baxter woke with a strange feeling something wasn’t quite right. Half asleep and with his eyes still closed, he tried to figure out what could be different. The bed seemed too soft and far more luxurious than the cheap hotel mattress he vaguely recalled crashing on the night before. A thick duvet covered him and he could feel warmth similar to the heat that usually came from another body close up against him. He couldn’t recall ever waking in a hotel with such contentment as he felt this morning.

After working nearly forty-eight hours straight, he had flown back to England on the red eye, practically sleepwalked to a taxi, and had finally fallen into bed exhausted. Long overdue for a break, he told himself he’d take one after his latest consulting project had been completed. He told himself the same thing every time, even though he knew his boss would have another job lined up for him before the final work had been finished on this one.

“Morning,” a sleepy voice murmured into his ear.

Scott froze. His unexpected bedmate moved and Scott noticed he had some serious morning wood pressed against his arse.

He opened his eyes. Only his companion’s arm wrapped around Scott’s chest stopped him falling out of bed from the shock. Had the relentless pressure of his job finally caused him to snap?

The hotel room had vanished and instead he appeared to be in someone’s house. The drapes over the patio doors had been pulled back and a snow-covered garden stretched toward a frozen pond. Light snow fell from the cloudy sky. The landscape outside the doors seemed more like January than May.

“Scott, are you okay?”

Scott didn’t know what to say. Had he been drugged and kidnapped? And if so, why? He wasn’t anyone important and his family didn’t have the money to pay any ransom.

“Ah good, you’re awake,” a second voice said. Like the first, this voice also belonged to a man, though he seemed to have a slight accent Scott couldn’t place.

Scott wondered how many men he had climbed into bed with last night, before he saw the second speaker stood at the end of the bed with his arms folded across his bare chest. With baggy silk trousers and golden metal cuffs on his wrists, he could have stepped straight out of Arabian Nights.

“What the hell is going on?” Scott shouted as he tried to untangle himself from the arms of the man sharing his bed. His companion wasn’t exactly helping him and instead seemed to be frozen in place like a statue. He poked the man with a finger. His skin felt normal, yet the other man didn’t react at all.

“You’re here to fulfill a wish,” the man at end of the bed told him. “I’m a djinn and I’m here to explain your present situation.”

Scott stopped contemplating the statue man beside him. “Excuse me?”

The djinn nodded. “I’m sure you’ve heard of my kind. We grant wishes to those who summon us. Well, I’m here because someone wished for you.”

A headache started behind Scott’s eyes. He didn’t have time for this nonsense.
