The End...

I finally reached the end of book 4: The Trail of Red Roses... and I can say for once I stuck mostly to my plot plan... that is until I got right to the last 4 chapters and then it all derailed on me and went in a different direction entirely.

I guess I have the whole of the next book (5) which is only an offshoot 50K Christmas novella (On the 12th Day) to get it back on track. I'm pretty sure I can do it.

So for right now, I'm typing up the synopsis and getting it ready to submit to MLRPress. this story has been a long time coming.

The next body of works on my agenda is The Connelly Chronicles: Because of You, I'm hoping to get it finished by the end of May.

Just A Quickie...

I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Why is it when you have something that has to be done life decides to fuck you over?

The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses... it was supposed to be done by now, and then I got bronchial asthma that lasted for months... and then I got visitors... and now it's supposed to be finished by tomorrow... and I've put my back out. I just can't win for losing. I still have 20K to write, which will take me 4 to 5 days... a week at most before I can even think about submitting. so I'm not happy.

On the other hand, I do have three of my other books ready for rehousing so I can submit them when I get the chance:

  • Admetus Gaea 1: The Gaean Prophecy
  • Moon Runners 1: Heart-mate, Mine! (though this is set at Christmas)
  • Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go

Update Time...

Okay, so a lot has happened since last time I was on here. I finally got my rights back from Fireborn for Moon Runners series, but not just Moon Runners, I got them back for all the books I had with Fireborn Publishing. so now I have been getting them ready to try and rehouse them.

Mainly writing up a synopsis for each story to send in so Publishers have a gist of what they're about. I hate writing Synopsis. I never had to do them at Fireborn, but lesson learned now I'll just do them for all books for just in case scenarios.

My rehousing list is as follows:

  • Admetus Gaea 1: The Gaean Prophecy
  • Hidden Hearts 1: Harder & Harder to Breathe
  • Hidden Hearts 2: One Last Kiss Goodbye
  • Moon Runners 1: Heart-mate, Mine!
  • Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go
  • The Diamond Rose 1: Gateway to Kalethia
  • The Freedomers 1: Zephania's Chance

I'm still working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses, but have to do a bit of a back read as I have mixed up a couple of my chapters and need to figure out my storyline again to finish. To get done by the end of the month I have to write 4,400 words per day... Wish me luck.

No Water & Kitty Cats

Woke up this morning and everything was normal. then went downtown and came home and we have no water. With no clue of when the supply is going to be restored. All they can tell us is there's an emergency somewhere in our city. Thanks for the no info guys. They did tell us to go look at the website, but I'm afraid as of yet it hasn't been updated.

Why is it, you really don't miss something until you can't have it anymore? Water is such an everyday thing to most of us. we use it for drinking, bathing, cleaning, flushing the toilet, and now that I can't do any of those things I feel like I'm missing out. Even though I know I'm clean I feel as though I'm filthy. I feel as so thirsty even though I've just had a nice cool drink. Hopefully, the water will come on again soon.

Today I've also been out helping Emily pick out some stuff for her new little kitten she gets to adopt on Thursday. He's such a little cutie. Totally forgot the pooper scooper, must find it and put it with her things for when she next comes over.  I think she is going to change his name to Jaffa, after a character out of The Lines of Marsden (Wolf Alpha) though really the character she wants is Maffa (Twin brother and beta to wolf pack)━who was based on her. I'll have to double check with her on that one before she renames the poor thing the wrong name. She had named Gypsy her dog after another character I'd based on traits of Emily.

Speaking of cats my two are going well. I have to buy them a new scratching pole this Thursday. They've all but killed the one we have. Robson has grown so much since I first got him━its almost been a year now. He still loves cuddling up to me, pretending that butter wouldn't melt in his mouth when we all know he's really dreaming up what mischief he can get into next. His favourite thing at the moment is bringing in bits of hay from out of the garden and giving them to us as presents. or pulling leaves off the plants and bringing them inside. He seems so proud of himself when he does it too. Like look at me, ain't I a good boy?

Oliver, on the other hand, is still my gentle soul. He not long turned six. Mind you, he can be as rough and tumble as Robby, and he loves his cuddles just as much. The heat of summer gets to him, so he loves it on the days we have the aircon going, or I'm watering the gardens and Olli and Robby can run through the hose water until I'm done.

They love playing chase in and around the pot plants and the garden beds. No wonder it always looks like world war three is only moments from breaking out. I swear they hate seeing the garden nice and neat. My poor Liriope plants take a beating because Olli and Robby think they make perfectly acceptable beds to roll around on so six of mine have been flattened out. I've also had to replace a fair few plants that Robby had decided are good to eat.

Shopping Day

Today I went to Bunnings and bought a battery pack whipper-snipper. I have a tiny yard for my inside garden and I always seem to forget to unlock it to get the mower in so I thought a whipper-snipper would do the trick nicely... and battery operated that way I don't have to deal with petrol or cords. I was going to buy some more plants than decided against it as I can always take cuttings off the ones I have and save myself a few bucks. Makes sense to me at least.

Then I can home and with the help from my sister-in-law Delmae we ordered another storage cupboard for my front veranda. That way it'll match the one on the back veranda so everything will once again be neat and tidy. In 2019 I'm trying to de-clutter my motto→ Less is more. I started out by culling a lot of my books. I stressed about it for ages but now that it's done I feel a hell of a lot better. Mind you, I still have a lot of MM books to donate to a good home somewhere close to me. It's just finding one.

All the while I'm determined to keep on top of my writing. It will start getting better in February for me, as by then I'll have found my rhythm. Two years away has left me scrambling to get back into the flow of things. But get there I will.

Yesterday I...

I finally found where I had tucked Admetus Gaea1: The Gaean Prophecy away. So I reformatted it to get it ready to resubmit it elsewhere to breathe new life into it. First though, I'm going through and changing a shit load so that the story makes more sense to me. I'm keeping the basic storyline, but adding the missing bits that make the whole thing make sense. sad to say that even as the original finished on kind of a cliff hanger so will this one. Though, I'm trying to figure out how to soften it a little if that makes any sense.

I also went and reformatted both Moon Runners 1: Heart-mate Mine, and Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go, in readiness for if and when I get my rights back and I can resubmit them.  I will keep you all updated on what's happening as I find out more. This has been something that has been slow going and might finally be coming to an end. Fingers crossed I get my rights back quickly and find a new home for the Moon Runner guys.

Also working back on The lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses. I have the 1st half at beta readers and I'm crazily working on the last half. Actually, I have less than half and only 3 weeks to finish it all in, not that I'm counting... Who am I kidding when I wrote before I thrived under pressure. I just hope it all makes sense. I'll know better once I hear back from James A. The only problem for me is my real life keeps getting in the way, but isn't that true for all authors. I'm thinking I'll just have to schedule my time better.
