The Week That Was FUBAR!!!

I can't believe the week I have had - seriously I was ready to tear my hair out of my head in frustration and anger. let me give you a little warning and some advice - YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS ARE NOT SAFE... I have been having a problem with scammers who ring up pretending to be from Microsoft and wanting access to my computer - or the ones who say they need to give me a refund for something I know damn well I have never purchased and wanting my credit card details so they can refund me.

It got so bad I was getting phone calls every 30 minutes on the dot. I was dreading the phone ringing and having to answer it - I changed my phone number which I have told you all before and put my number to silent and on the DO NOT CALL register. At least now I am not getting the harassing calls. (It takes approximately a week for the phone number to swap over) and in the week I made my husband answer the damn phone as much as possible.

The worst part was in that final week one of the scammers which I actually answered rattled off not only my credit card number but the security code on the back. How they got this I do not know, but it scared the fricken bejesus out of me. I immediately cancelled said credit card and thanks to my bank they told me no money had been taken from my account which I am very thankful for. They claimed to have gotten the card numbers from my bank and my government which is a crock of shit if you ask me.

So my advice is - Please be very careful with how you use your card and, who you give your numbers to. May none of you have to experience the week I have had to just live through.

On Writing ~ Inspiration.

Today I am working on Taking Chances: Lie to Me. I have not done much on it today but I have managed to pass the 27K mark which I am totally happy for. Though once I pass the 30K mark I will start to think about winding it down. I am still not sure where it is headed.  After going through all my earlier notes and fixing the head hopping and such I took the last 5K and set it aside to use as part of one of the other story lines in future books.

Lie to Me revolves a Alec Callahan & Thaniel Ward. Future books will revolve around Thaniel's cousins. I have written the titles and main characters first names, but I have no clue which order I will eventually write them in.

Pick Me Up & Dust Me Off :-  Rhys & Isaac
You're Barely Sleeping:- Dillon & Taylor
Just To See You Smile:- Gabriel & Ben's
Harder To Breathe:- Jess & Sean
Princess Hard-Core:- Luc & Conner

In case you are wondering where I got the title for book one from - I will tell you. Actually I will add the video so you can see. I only took the title from here and not anything else to do with the book. I just really like this song.

I would also like to add that my book Lie to me in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM resembles any part of the movie Shelter - which is where I first heard this song. I will acknowledge that Shelter is a fricken awesome movie which needs to be watched by everyone.

Just wanting to show off two new releases for my friend Lex Valentine (well Scrambling isn't released until September 18th). FEAR NOT: I will update the link for Scrambling when it becomes available.

Blurb for Colin Cuffed in Beyond Bounds:

But Eden has other plans for him that don’t include “quiet.” Her cousin Emily is away on vacation and Eden has the key to her house. She takes Colin there and introduces him to Emily and Vahid’s private dungeon. Reluctant to play at first, Colin gives in to Eden and is instantly cuffed to the bed. What follows is a night of sensory deprivation and fun with a violet wand, proving that even married couples can be pretty kinky.

Blurb for Scrambling:

Evan McAdam has two constants in his life—football and his friendship with Reed Matthews. From the age of six, Evan’s played football alongside Reed. In his teens, he realized he was gay and loved Reed, but fear kept him from confiding his deepest emotions to his best friend. When he and Reed are drafted to the L.A. The two men struggle with secrets of unrequited love while facing the world as the first two openly gay NFL players. When injury forces Evan to retire, the love he bears Reed can no longer be hidden. PITA Things...

Okay, so here's a little taste into my life at the moment - I have been getting hit by scammers and telemarketers and I mean like up to 15-20 calls a day (on some days). It has been driving me nuts to the nth degree so today I bit the bullet and had my name changed and registered for the DO NOT CALL register. I am not saying it will stop them all completely but it should stop most of them. Most of the charities I deal with will be able to contact me via email. For my family You will all find out what the new number is as soon as I get around to telling you all (that's Nana's department - so if you don't get told it's because she's old and forgot to tell you).

Other than that I have just been working on Lie to Me. I know it won't appeal to everyone one as it starts off with an instance of cheating (well kind of - okay it is cheating, but he goes home and tells his girlfriend straight away that he thinks he's gay). The cheating is needed for the rest of the story line (There is no cheating anywhere else in the story). So I am hoping people will understand the why of  - why it happened. If not at least I am giving people fair warning of what is going to happen. and this is book one in the series Taking Chances (there is no instances of cheating in the three books which follow).

I am still working on my other works as well - even if I have been a bit slack of late and I am even working on my blog stories which seem to have fallen to the wayside these past couple of months I have no excuse except I have been a slacker and let real life get in the way.

For those of you who are interested this is the guy that does all my tattooing. Don't let the innocent look fool you... My brother Ted Saddo of Sink the Ink: Tattoo & Body Piercing, is just as crazy as the rest of us. (PS: he is the one who coloured in the picture for me I have displayed on this blog).

Looking Back.

Today I have been looking back at old stories I started years ago and was having a gander through them. What shocked me was how badly they were written after working with editors for the past year I realise I know so much more now. Thank God no one has to see the crappy first attempts which I thought were so bloody good when I first started out - for those of you who were subject to my work in the beginning I can only apologise.

The worst thing in all of my earlier works that I am guilty of is HEAD HOPPING. Why I felt the need to be inside everyone's head all  at the same time I have no clue as it makes re-tweaking a nightmare. But if I ever want these stories to see the light of day I have a lot of re-tweaking ahead of me.

Seriously I need a good critique group. I have two wonderful beta readers (Sue & Yoda) who put up with all my weirdness, and I have two great editors (Kimberly & Mark) who help me sort out the rest. Without them all I would still be a total mess.

One Of Those Weeks.

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you think to yourself - "What the fuck is going on?" In our household this week this is what we have been going through.

1) Emily and the hubs have decided it's fair game on their work jeans - they have each torn a couple of pairs so I will be replacing them and all down the back seam - mind you it has given me an abundance of sick jokes for the next six months or so.

2) Emily spilt curing oil all on the floor of the shed and down the leg of a pair of jeans she didn't rip. typical that is all I can say.

3) Emily went into the head office and left all the stuff she was meant to take sitting in the home office. If that wasn't bad enough she forgot to pick up the stuff from head office and bring it back out to home.

4) The hubs came home with a $330- fine from talking n his mobile phone while driving... and then gets cranky at me because of it - Hey, I wasn't the idiot talking on the phone - LOL. I am one of the good people who pull over or just don't answer the ringing phone.

5) The rego payment slip for the trailer goes missing so it takes me all day to get through all the departments just to pay $89.40 (I may have been the one to lose this but I am not owning up to it.)

Can anyone besides me see a pattern here? I think Em and the hubs should just stop touching things and writing themselves notes and my life would run a hell of a lot more smoothly.

Lie To Me...

Today I have decided to work on something completely different to what I am supposed to be doing. so after cleaning out my drop box I went through and randomly picked a book to work on -  (pull a name out of a plastic container method).  Lie to Me is the story that I pulled out. So even though I have 30 K of the 45 K story written I am going through and making sure there are no really bad head hopping incidents, (believe me, there are a ton so I am dreading going through the rest of the story. This is one of those crazy-arse stories where I have like three story lines going on. So I have decided to separate them and turn it into three 45 K Novella's.

On A Moon-Runner Christmas I have worked my way through most of the stuff and am waiting for my first lot of Edits I think my editor is Mark Hopkins again, it will be good to argue with him again. Mind you since One Last Kiss Goodbye we have become old friends. I wonder if his favourite things to tell me are REDUNDANT-DELETE-SHOW DON'T TELL. I suppose I will find out soon enough.

Em is getting the last of her chest tattoo (the diamond rose) done today so it should be all good by the time we get to GRL in October. I really must finish writing  the damn book seeing as she has the title now tattooed across her chest. Well, at least it will be good pre- promoing for me, LOL.
