Today & My Upcoming Week

Today we started out with a new rule in our house.  HOUSEWORK SUNDAY. I don't think it went over too well with the kids. 14 and 25. We all had our assigned jobs. and then the kids went to Toowoomba to pick up yet another load of Em's stuff from UNI Village and move it home. My hubs is in New Zealand at the moment setting up our new company: Dragon Head Construction LTD. So we won't see him until the end of the month. he'll be home just as school holidays start in Australia.

I've been working on The Connelly Chronicles 2: Beautiful Goodbyes. I feel much better with the new way the story is settling in. I'm actually glad just to be writing again. I basically never wrote a thing between November 2014 (NaNoWriMo wsa the last thing I wrote) I started writing again on May 15th 2015 when I started the DRitC story: Hollow's Trouble, and finished the last 4 chapters in The Lines Of Marsden 3: You Make Me Die In Pieces. TLOM 3 is now in the hands of my editor at MLR--Christie N.

Monday: I have the flick-man coming he'll be checking for termites and spraying for all the creepy crawleys around (red back spiders are running rampant again). Tuesday: I have to go to the Dr's for my yearly blood test... then I have the Electrician coming out as we need some more power points in the house and the light switch in the toilet needs to be replaced as it keeps zapping people and only working when it wants to. Friday: I have to take Em to the Chiropractor to put her hips and back in again... the woes of having one leg shorter than the other.

N.J. Nielsen: My June Writing Agenda

I'm determined to get two stories finished this month so I will be writing approximately 4.7K each day... if I do more than all the better. Now that my life has calmed somewhat and I have time to write again I find myself playing catch up big time.

The two books I will be working on are:

1) The Connelly Chronicles 2: Beautiful Goodbyes-- this one follows on from the same point in which Family Connections ended. Once again we will be in Ray and Viv's point of view as they walk us through the next instalment of the family's life. All your favourites will be back adding their two cents to the mix. When done it's be on it's way to Pride Publishing.

2) Hidden Hearts 1: Harder & Harder To Breathe-- since I reworked and added 15K to the word count of One Last Kiss Goodbye, I've taken in what my fans have asked for and have decided to go back and write the prequel (Micah & Sammy) before I sub them both to Fireborn Publishing.

Subbed & Onto...

Hollow's Trouble has been beta edited and sent to the Goodreads MMRomance group... I will heave back from them in a couple of weeks about any additional edits I may have to do.

I can tell you I was glad to get this story finally finished. I just hope I've done the prompt justice. But, I suppose in the end I can only give you my interpretation of the prompt I claimed.

Next year if I participate I will be better bloody prepared. I felt so rushed this time with everything going on in my life. I know that's no excuse, but when the shit hits the fan - it well and truly has blow-back.

Now I'm back onto one story I really do love writing for you all. The characters in The Lines of Marsden have wormed their way into my heart.

I've just finished the re read to catch up with where I was at and have now started back into the story. I am positive I'll get this one done by May 31st and to the lovely Christie N at MLR for edits.

DONE!

Finally finished... Once again I would like to thank the wonderful people at MMRomance at Goodreads for allowing me an extension on my DRitC 2015 story: Hollow's Trouble. It's getting a few edits done on it now and then it will be sent in.

Today I'm back to working on The Lines Of Marsden 3: You Make Me die In Pieces. I have the last couple of chapters to write before I can finally send it in  to my wonderful editor Christie N at MLRPress.

Other than that the hubs got off to New Zealand okay. So hopefully it will be stress free here until he comes back and we start the next bit in setting up our new construction company.

HAHBAT - I Almost Forgot

So as you can all tell I almost forgot to do my post for this blog hop... But I suppose the old adage better late than never fits my situation. I won't go on about why I forgot just say if you want to know just read some of my previous posts.

Okay, now onto my post for this amazing blog... At this stage in my life i don't have a clue what I'm going to write about so I will go with the faithful rambling technique I've used in past years. I figure if it ain't broken then go with the flow.

The other day I was sitting at the local mall in the next city over - the kids were shopping and I was happy to sit with my kindle and read. In the end I got side tracked by people watching (come on I know I'm not the only one who participates in this activity)

Sitting across the way was this young same sex couple and I thought it was sweet the way they didn't seem to care about being in public as they sat together and cuddled in one of the chairs. I didn't see a problem with it at all. That was until other people started to comment and at first I was shocked, and then I was down right pissed, until in the end I spoke up and let them have it. Not the couple but all the bigoted arseholes that had decided they had the right to try and demean the younger couple.

The writer in me saw nothing wrong with the same sex affection. The mum in me wanted to defend the younger couple while the human in me decided to take control and tell people to shut the fuck up. At the time I was so sure I was right and stood up for my beliefs. Even though the younger couple thanked me and told me it's not the worst they have endured though really the bigotry is far and few between... The weird part is when I finally introduced myself they had actually read some of my work... Don't get me wrong, I was tickled pink, but so used to being a nobody that I was weirded out a bit.

Later on when I was at home I started to wonder if what I did was right. Should I have butted in and blew my stack at the rude strangers? Does that make me just like all of them. wasn't I trying to push my own beliefs onto them. After having an internal debate that lasted hours I thought FUCK IT!!! You know what, if I'm ever faced with the same situation. I know I'll do everything exactly the same way because I believe in EQUALITY. I believe just because you are wired to be a certain way when it comes to love, then who am I or anyone else to tell you it's wrong. It wasn't so long ago then interracial was frowned up - actually it probably still is in some places. Seriously I just want to kick the collective world up it's arse and tell everyone to wake up to them selves.

IF YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING NICE, THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP.
