It's My Life

Been away a lot at the moment because my 86-year-old mother is week 2 into a 5-week cream based chemo plan. She has a few sun cancers just under the skin on her nose. The only bad thing it's truly like chemo so she is sick as a dog and lost all her appetite. I feel because I'm the one who has to apply the cream each day so I feel like I'm making her sick. then even worse because I have to make her eat as the doctor still wants her to try and eat 3 times a day.

Let me tell you━so not fun for either of us.

But at least I know that at the end of this once it's all out of her system she'll start to get better again. That's the only thing we all want anyway. I guess I'll talk to you all again soon.

Holy Moley ~ It's Been A Month...

Honestly, the only thing I can say is... besides being slack... I've just been caught up with family.

1) I've had Mum at the doctors a bit over the last couple of weeks.

2) I've looked after Grace while Emily has sat for her uni exams for her law classes.

3) I've been busy in the yard and garden.

4) I've been busy writing up a ton of new story ideas. I had to get them down on paper so I didn't forget them.

5) I've had a really sore jaw... no clue what I've done to it. I can't remember hitting it at all. but I hope it gets better soon.

I'll try not to be as slack in the future. Hopefully, most of the everyday mundane stuff is done... but next month I still have a fair few doctor visits with Mum. so I'll be out for most of those days. We have a definite chill in the air here today. I can finally say Winter has come... but in a couple of hours, it'll probably be stinking hot again. Though one-day last week, we woke up to -1°... But in all honesty, I love the cooler months.

Grandma Duty... & Other Stuff

Yesterday, I was on Grandma duty. I'm not saying that Oliver and Robson were Jealous of having to share me with Grace... but they stuck glued to us all day. Mind you, I think Oliver believes Grace is one of his kittens (like he thinks Robson is). Thank God she's not allergic like her mum.

I didn't get any writing done yesterday, but I am still working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses. All I'll say is that I hope I can get it back to where it needs to be by the end of the damns tory for the next book to start.

Though Grace and I did watch the last season of Haven... I'd forgotten some of what had happened. I love that show... Duke Crocker is still my favourite character... followed closely by Dwight Hendrickson. Though after reading Stephen King's: The Colorado Kid... I never worked out how they based the show off that book except for the murder of James Cogan... because the rest of the TV series was so different...

Other than that all is well in my world... a few headaches here and there, more so when I forget to take my medication. I have a ripsnorter of one today.

Still waiting to hear about a publication date and cover on Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go.

I've also been working on retweaking TASH into a series of 6 books instead of 1... now I just have to come up with a series title... and find the time to write it.

What's The Hap?

I had to spend the morning in the garden again because the cats knocked down all of my mother-in-law's tongues (snake plants), so I had to transplant them to a safer area of the garden. Hopefully, this time they'll stay safe. I still have a little bit of rearranging to do down there but I'll get it all done eventually. I also have to mow at some stage today.

I spent yesterday writing out plot notes on a new story idea... but then thought I might intermingle it with what I already have for THE HUNTED... to see if I can get that story out of my back burner pile.

I'm still waiting to hear back about cover art on MOON RUNNERS 2: I Won't Let You Go. I have sent an email asking for an update on the cover and a release date. I will let you all know as soon as I hear something.

Also working on THE LINES OF MARSDEN 4: The Trail of Red Roses I'm trying to get a bit more done. I don't want to start slacking off now.

Mother's Day has come and gone and I got a beautiful collage of pictures of my granddaughter, Grace... I just have to find a spot to hang it up in the house. She is such a little cutie.

For The Love Of A Grandchild

My granddaughter Grace might only be just under 2 months old, but I have never seen a movie calm her down like this one does. It's good that it does, but bad for us that listen to it over and over and get the damn songs stuck in our heads.

The minute she hears the music she starts flinging her arms and legs around and gurgling as if she's singing along. Thank God she is with her Mum & Dad most of the time and I only get it sporadically. but every day Emily sends me a new video of her dancing to one of the songs.

I think she likes Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron and the Bearded Lady the best out of all of them. though I think the song she goes craziest for is [This is me]. Unlike her mother who lets the whole movie play. I just skip through to the songs, but that will only last until she's old enough to work out what the hell I'm doing.

If I have to have it stuck in my head then so do you...

Playing Catch Up

Trying really hard to get to 50K today on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses. I've already marked it off on my blog so now I can't stop until I reach my goal.

Chris and the guys are out and about to kick some but where it comes to Venetia. They've found a way to deplete some of her power base without her knowing.

I'll spend the rest of the day on this and update you again on Monday to let you know how I'm going with it all.

Just Me & Updates.

I have a really bad headache today. nothing I can do has helped. I can't even concentrate enough to get past 2K in my wordage on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses... I can tell you the story has gone AWOL from my plot outline there is no hope of recovery.

Though on other news I had to redo the cover art sheet for Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go and send it back in. So hopefully I'll have something to show you all soon.

Guest: Aria Peyton

One day of perfection.

Five minutes to change it all.

All it took was the cruelty of one man and the actions of their clan to tear them apart.

Fated Mates; destined for each other. Forced into a solitary life until another enters their story.

Will his presence reunite them? Or will the past rear its ugly head and destroy them?

Death. Solitude. Grief.

And one bright star in the darkness.

When he discovers his guiding light he is related to the person responsible for two of the deaths will Nate welcome her with open arms? Or turn her away from the stain now marring his family name?

What happens to Kirsty when the darkness bleeds over, forever tainting the life they could have shared?

Will Nate stick around or cut and run?

Tiffany knows Santa is real. After all she caught her mother with him ten years ago. What Tiffany doesn’t realise is that the shifters she reads about are real, too, and there’s one on her roof.

Robert was kidnapped as a child and forced to live a life of slavery until one night he meets his mate. She frees him from the spell he’s under and escapes the clutches of the one who stole him.

They think they’re getting their HEA, only now Tiffany finds herself wielding incredible amounts of unmanageable magic, and there’s only one person who can help her.

Roberts captor.

Updates...

Okay, I'm getting back into writing. I have someone cracking the whip on me to make sure that I keep on track. I even managed 5 K yesterday and that's with gasbagging to people on social media. and the funny thing is they don't even work for my publishing houses they work for another one... but they are taking the time every now and again to give me the kick in the arse I need.

I'm hoping to hit 60K on The lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses by this Sunday  I know once I get past 50K I'll start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sad to say, I'm already deviating from the synopsis that I plotted out. Will I ever learn to follow the damn plan? now I have to try and work my way back around to the storyline so it ends up where it's supposed to. Life would be so much easier if I could just stick to the notes I'd meticulously written out... but no... not me... my characters had to go and get all gnarly and start ad-libbing the story to suit themselves. Honestly, I'll be damn glad when this story is done.

It also doesn't help that as soon as I get into a good writing rhythm I suddenly have new story ideas jump into my head... so I have to stop everything and write down notes so that I don't forget anything. It might only be a couple of hundred words, but the last one was 3 K... which would have been better spent being written into one of my current WIPS instead of story idea notes that will just wind up in my back burner books until I can get to it at a later date.

On that note, I will away as I have another 5K to write today.

New Story Idea

These guys are the Stenmark twins are the inspiration for the characters in my new idea. Grant & Warren Stanton (with tie) they are close yet very different people. Warren works for the father's company [not sure what the company is yet] while Grant is a high profile photographer. He refused to work for the father (Oliver Stanton) when they left school and instead decided to make his own way in the world without his father's money or backing. Warren toed the line. He dated a girl his father approved of worked in the department his father dictated and was damn good at his job. He might not always be happy, but he's an adult now and life wasn't always about being happy. Even though Grant went his own way his father never worried, it only seemed to be Warren he was hard on. I should add Warren is the MC in book one.

This is Milou Van Groesen (no clue who they are, I'm assuming they are a model. I'm not even sure if they are male or female, but for my story they are male). This is who I based Derek Miller on he is Grant's best friend, and works for Oliver Stanton. Oliver had his reasons for hiring Derek which you find out in the book. When a death happens Derek &Warren find themselves thrown together.

What starts as a one-off soon turns into more as Warren's world gets turned upside down. He finds out the world he has lived since he was 18 may have been a lie and he doesn't know how to deal with it all. Through demands of some people and interfering of others, it's a wonder is Warren & Derek ever get together.

Robson & Other Things

Robson: is growing up so fast it has now been a week since this cute little bundle of psychotic chaos was desexed. I thought that would calm the little guy down━did it? I hear you ask. That would be a big fat no. The vet told me to keep him calm for 4 days after the operation. 10 minutes after getting him home he was chasing Oliver (our other cat) all over the house like a maniac. On the plus side, there seems to have been no side effects to him not having the quiet time afterwards.

Other Things: The weather is finally starting to get a chill to it of a morning and of an evening, but still hot as during the day. I'm trying to get as much writing done this morning as I can because I have to go and mow this arvo... and I won't feel like getting back onto the computer after that. All I'll want to do then is either curl up with a good book or watch a DVD.

I'm working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses again today. Hoping to make it to chapter 10 (36/7K). Wish me luck.

Working On...

I've been working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses. I just finished re-reading, reworking and have started on finishing the story plot line. I'm even kind of following the synopsis I wrote out━GO ME... I know where I need the story to finish so that the next instalment can start so I hope I don't get too sidetracked along the way.

NEW IDEA... or old... depending on how you look at it. I had a dream and it changed the way I'm going to write the Outside The Safety Zone series. I have been working on book 1: Hiding in Plain Sight. It's kind of an end of humanity... or rebuilding of humanity type story. I'm still trying to figure it all out. I guess you will all know when I know.

I'm A Grandma & Other News

OTHER NEWS:

Now that little Grace has finally entered into the world I can finally get back on track. The last 3 months have been a tad hectic for me. Hopefully, now life will start to settle once more. I'm about to jump back into my writing I have four projects on the go. I won't say which ones will get completed first until they are done so that it's a surprise... but I will say just keep an eye on the word count for each story.

Other than that all is well in the world on N.J. Nielsen... No use complaining as no one wants to hear that bullshit anyway. I did just finish rewatching Roswell. Not a bad show, but I did find myself wanting to shake the shit out of some of the characters no and again. I suppose that's what makes it a good story... You can't like them all.

Updates

I have been working on the EIC edits for Fireborn Publishing on Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go... I have to do the final read through today before I can send it back to Kathy K.

MY BOOKS: I've also still been writing up notes on all the plots for all the stories that I have to write this year. Some are coming to me easy. Others not so much as I can't remember all the character names which means I have a lot of rereading, and sometimes I really don't like rereading my own workbecause I always seem to pick up places where I could have made it better, but I never want to be one of those authors that redo their own work and then put it back out for sale. I only plan on doing that for one book and I'm not even sure if  I will for sale it or put it out for free again... but that story is for a later date (Masters of Time 1: Shadows on the Heart).

I'm about to be a grandma soon, & once bub comes along I'll finally be able to settle back into writing again. right now we are all just waiting for Emily to pop her out (so to speak). Luckily she has had a pretty good pregnancy. I mean she might not think so but compared to some people she can't really complain. She's due at the end of the month.

Running on lack of sleep at the moment as we have roadworks happening near my place. they are upgrading a road that didn't even need doing as far as I can tell. The thing is now the Commonwealth Games Baton is due to be coming through our city in 11 days and now they are scrambling to finish a job that should never have been started. So most night we have noise & flashing lights from 4pm to 5am... who needs sleep these days?

No Sleep...

The sad thing is I can't even blame it on insomnia. I have roadworks happening on the corner near my house, but they've parked al their trucks right outside my bedroom window. So all night I get the noise, the smell, and the flashing lights of the whole thing... and if that's not enough, then there is Robson who thinks night time is the time to run all over my bed like a psycho and attack any part of me he can. I know he's a kitten and just wants to play, but god I can't wait for him to grow out of this stage.

I'm going downtown to cast my early vote today just so I don't have to go out on Saturday and deal with all the crowds... especially when I have my elderly mother with me. I hate having to vote when we haven't long done it before, but better to go out and do it than cop a fine for not. Mind you, I always say if you don't vote then you can't complain when the idiots get into government. because no one I know ever votes them in... or so they say... LOL... but that's enough about that.

Couldn't believe it when I heard teething gel (like Bonjela) can make you blow over on a Random Breath Test... I wouldn't have believed it but I saw it on the news this morning. A man had used Bonjela on an ulcer in his mouth and blew over the limit... I didn't see if they actually fined him or not...

LESSON LEARNED: Be careful what you put in your mouth.

1st Edits Done...

I just sent back the 1st edits for Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go... I hate to say it but I still suck at writing blurbs. I'm just hoping that me and Jamie DR are able to get them to make sense.

Until I get them back I'll go back to working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses

That's in between family commitments... I actually enjoyed getting back into the whole writing schedule again. I've missed it. The problem is when I reread what I wrote in the two years I was absent not a whole lot of it makes sense, so most of it has to be rewritten.
