What's the happ?

Today I'm happy to announce that the bitch of a migraine I have lived through and survived for the past two days has finally subsided to a dull roar.

Today I also heard from the amazing Steve L (my MLR editor) about Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse... Hopefully it'll be on it's way to the next person in line.

I'm also catching up on more taxes.. I pray I'm finally getting to the end of them all. I feel like I've been doing taxes forever and  a day.

Today I'm also working on The Connelly Chronicles: Beautiful Goodbyes. I'm trying to get chapters 3 & 4 finished.

Losing my mind.

Have you ever had one of those days when you find the need to re-read and old WIP only to find myself so engrossed I've started tweaking what I have and written an then proceed to write almost to the quota I had set aside to finish this book in... though I may end up going over so that I can end the story in a believable spot.  I should tell you the story is The Gaean Prophecies: Admetus Gaea... and as by this picture you can tell it revolves around Faeries and Elven-kind (Elves) There are also other species in there that everyone will be familiar with. Though one said species I had to modify to fit with my species.

Here is a cursory blurb:

Grayson Gellespie: Finds himself thrust into the role as the saviour of a world he had believed was nothing but an imaginative story.

Jarkebb Arindad: The banished son of Lord Jondalar Arindad - ruler of the Elven-kind. he was sent out to find the saviour the prophecies foretold of.

Bailin Greer: Warrior of the Deepwoods Faerie Glenn has been tasked by the Lady to be the saviour’s eyes behind enemy lines.

Alone they will fail but once they combine forces they have the power to forever change the world in which they live Three stories woven together to tell the tale of the Gaean Prophecies... Apart from saving the world our heroes have to fight to claim their bond mates along the way.

Okay, I should point out this story is not M/M/M it's three couples who need to work together to save the world they live in.

What a fricken day I had yesterday.

<= This picture is just because I need something pretty to look at...

Yesterday I did a 10 hour round trip from my home to Woleebee Creek & back to pick up one of our worker and then that was followed by 4 hours sleep before I had to get up and start today--So not fun.

Though today in my inbox I had an email off of Reese Dante discussing my upcoming cover art for The Connelly Chronicles: Family Connections. I can't wait to see the final thing.

I'm so tired that I don't want to do anything and yet as the say "life must go on."  I don't even have time for a nana nap because I have so much on my to-do list today that I didn't get done yesterday.

Gasbagging about my books.

I don't know why but this abandoned stock exchange makes me want to write... I think there is definitely a story in here somewhere. What do you think?

Then there is this other part of me that thinks it could fit into one of the stories I already have planned... Like Experimentals: Running Into Zero Tolerance. Speaking of this series I heard from my MLR editor Steve L and he is currently going over my edits on Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse to see if they come back to me or go on to the next person in the editing/publishing line

Yesterday I sent the first two chapters of The Connelly Chronicles: Beautiful Goodbyes to one of my beta readers James A... he will get it back to me when he can.

Today I'm supposed to be doing taxes but I want to finish the second chapter on Preternatural High: Welcome to my world. This story is just calling to me today for some reason.

Talking Taxes & Writing Plans

Remember way back when I said I was caught up in tax bullshit? Well months down the track and I'm no closer to getting it resolved... Apparently accountants and book keepers have a hard time doing their job if I lose dockets etc... But how the hell they expect me to remember back to 2011 I don't know especially when I'm flat out remembering last week.

On a brighter note The Connelly Chronicles: Family Connections has gone off to the EIC at Silver Publishing so I'm one step closer for my boys seeing the light of day. I have already started on Book 2 The Connelly Connections: Beautiful Goodbyes. This is a bit of a strange story to write as it is more as a filler book in 4 person pov and I'm getting out there right now it is a HFN - though in future books in the series they all get their HEA.

I have worked out a writing plan for 2014 and I'll show it to you all closer to the end of the year... I'm trying to get myself more organised so that I don't let stories slide that I have been promising for a year. Though I will show you the plan for the end of this year.
  1. The Connelly Chronicles: Beautiful Goodbyes.
  2. Landcaster's Way: A different Way Of Seeing.
  3. Preternatural High: Welcome To My World.
NaNoWriMo: Sons of Evenmore: Blood to Blood

If by any chance I manage to finish and still have time on my hands I have the In between books  (books I write when I have a spare moment). These ones will run on into 2014 as well. They'll eventually get done, but not right now.

  1. The Diamond Rose: Undiscovered Hearts.
  2. Toowoomba Boys: Dancing with Demons.
  3. SPAM Inc: Claiming Roxy's Heart.

Edits Done!!!

Well I have finally finished the edits on The Connelly Chronicles: Family Connections and sent them back to the wonderful Jamie DR.

I have also emailed Steve L to find out the update on the edits for Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse.

I still have no cover art for either of them but when I do you know I'll share them with you all. I think getting the covers is just as much fun as writing the stories.

Summer Is In The Air

The days and nights are starting to heat up so soon I'm going to need a new air-conditioner in my office. I don't want to lose another tower to the temperature.

I'm still doing the last read-through of The Connelly Chronicles: Family Connections before I send it back to Jamie DR... So thankful that I listened to her.

I hope it rains soon as our tanks could use a top up. we have been here for 5 years and haven't had to buy water yet... nor do I ever want to have to. Though I hope when the rain finally does come it's not another flood.

Updates & Changes

This is the picture I have as my desktop background... he looks great in a pair of leather pants - even Em had to agree. So beautiful is Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

I have received today and started on the 2nd round of edits for The Connelly Chronicles: Family Connections. I hope to get them done and back by tomorrow to the wonderful Jamie D R.

I also revamped and tried to de-clutter my Blog page... I've decided to only display the 3 current WIPS I'm working on at a time so people know where my head is at. well I can hope at least.

Firstly: this picture is here just because I think It's awesome. and I'll add it to my file of inspirational pictures.

Now for the updates:

  • I just participated in a Silver Publishing featured author interview which will be coming out in the future - I'll let you all know when.
  • Finding a new book keeper is harder than I thought because once they start talking techno I have no clue what's going on... but hopefully Christine D will sort everything out.
  • I'll be away tomorrow as I have to take Em to her chiropractor session, and my mum is tagging along to buy some more books... I can't deny buying books is a good thing.
  • Typing up all the long hand notes on The Lines of Marsden: You Make Me Die In Pieces.

Filling In The Blanks...

Today I'm still doing first round edits on Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour which may or may not be about to have a name and series name change - My editor Jamie R and I talked and we're both in agreeance that this title may give people the impression that is a historical book when in fact it is modern day - I'll have to let you know what we decide.

I'm still trying my hardest to keep up with everything else... failing a little... but nothing I can't make up the ground in between editing rounds. I have a plan and I just need to stick to it... How hard can it be?

Sunday 25 August 2013

Crazy Busy...

Got first round of edits on Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour... scary but I'll try and get them done right. (This picture of Jonathan Rhys Meyers is how I picture Ray Connelly). Hopefully I may have cover artwork to share with you soon.

Still no news on the next round of edits for Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse from Steve L - last communication was we're nearly to the next step in the editing phase which is exciting - hopefully have cover artwork for this soon as well.

I'm still doing the last read-through of The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows. I'm not changing much just mainly taking out the unnecessary words and checking time lines.

Also trying to keep up with the tree other current projects (The Lines of Marsden: You Make Me Die In Pieces - Lancaster's Way: A Different Way Of Seeing - Preternatural High: Welcome To My World) though, they'll be placed on hold until my edits go back to Jamie R.

Rambling On Writing.

Sometimes I have to wonder about my own mind...  when the lines between the stories in my head and the real world sometimes blur... and why my family still put up with me. I've been with my hubs for over ten years. Yet, in the last 5 years since I started taking my writing seriously the poor guy very rarely gets called by his own name. while writing the first Lines of Marsden book he became Christian and in the current one he's answering to Doyle. All I can say is thank God the guy loves me.

He's gone by many names... Christian, Doyle, Kayne, Ren, Knox, Dalar, Liam, Charlie, Damon, Kylfa, Jericho, and so on and so forth - that I thought maybe I should pay him homage and say - that in fact his real name is Steve. In the beginning some people thought I was having an affair, and my dear sweet Hubs says, "Nah, she writes gay porn." I'd just like to point out that I do not, nor have I ever written porn - I write M/M Romance.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way I will talk about what my plans are...
  1. The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows is on the final read through before I submit it to MLR...
  2. I'm up to date on my writing time lines for - The Lines of Marsden: You Make Me Die In Pieces - Lancaster's Way: A Different Way Of Seeing - Preternatural High: Welcome To My World. (Still trying to get as much done as possible before I get more edits on Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse - Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour - By The Way).
  3. Decided that for NaNoWriMo this year I will work on two novella's instead of one story. I'm thinking they'll be - Toowoomba Boys: Dancing With Demons - The Soul Guardians: Loving Callum McKenzie. So I have set them aside so I don't work on them until November.
  4. I've just ordered swag for OzmmMeet in Sydney this year - I think Em's picking it up today from the post office.
  5. Also planning on not letting people use the office for a dumping ground for what gets left on the kitchen bench... I've set up a tray for the stuff and if no one claims the stuff within a week then Mr Wheelie Bin gets to keep it. I finally have the place set up how I want it, and I don't need no bad cluttered mojo in my space. It's bad enough I own a cluttered mind let alone it spilling over into my office.
The only thing I need for all this to work is coffee and lots of it... I'm also trying to stick to my - shut down the computer by 2pm each day... so far in the last 6 months I've only broken that rule twice... and I'm also sticking to having - one day each weekend where I don't get on the computer at all... that one's harder to stick to.

Brain Farts...

Today has been one of those days... where all by brain does is fart, and I can't get anything substantial done. I had so much to do, and yet the day is half over, and I'm nowhere near finishing the list of jobs I have to do. I'm blaming it on the stupid headache I have that just won't quit.

The only thing I've done that can even been considered good, is worked on The Lines Of Marsden: Living in Shadows. though I still have the last scene to write in the book, but I'm typing it all up as fast as I can. I am hoping to get it done before I get hit with edits from Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour and Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse.

Thursday 8 August 2013

Alone...Well, Kind Of.

Today I have the house to myself... Can you even be alone when you have so many character's inside your head wanting to be heard? Or when they're all wanting you to pay attention to what they need?

I don't know what the answer is, because today Vlad my every trusting ghost of a muse, is determined I'll write the end of The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows.

Though to be honest I'll be glad to finish the story line as well. The next one: You Make Me Die In Pieces is just around the corner and I have a plan of how to get it done before Christmas. just hope I can stick to it.

I heard from my Silver editor Jamie R, and she tells me she will be starting on Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour soon. I can't wait, because I love this story. One of my beta readers (Yoda) is patiently waiting for book 4: Jamie's Bear.

MY GOAL: I set myself a Goal of having 6 books out/subbed in 2013 and so far I am one off the final count.
  1. Boys from the Bush: Bush Bashin'. [Out MLR]
  2. Sons of Evenmore: The Crimson Grimoire. [Out MLR]
  3. Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse. [Edits MLR]
  4. Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour. [Edits Silver]
  5. By The Way. [Edits OzmmMeet]
  6. The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows. [Will be subbed by next month MLR]
So next on the agenda is the next in these series or something new... any wants or needs-story wise that is-will be listened to. Or maybe there is another story on my WIPS lists that you might be yearning to read.
  1. Lancaster's Way: A Different Way Of Seeing. [Book 2]
  2. Toowoomba Boys: Dancing With Demons. [Book 3]
  3. Sons of Evenmore: Blood to Blood. [Book 2]
  4. The Soul Guardians: Loving Callum McKenzie. [Book 1 ]
  5. Taking Chances: Lie To Me. [Book 1]
  6. The Diamond Rose: Undiscovered Hearts. [Book 1]

Updates Galore ( Okay, so there's only Four)

Well this week I have been keeping very busy... I have completed two lots of edits on By The Way - the free short story for Oz mm Meet in Sydney this October. I wasn't feeling this story all the way through I started it three times and had a name change and now it is finally done and the wonderful Alison T is working her editing magic.

I will be trying to finish the long hand on The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows... I have already gotten the spiral binder book to start straight on #3: You Make Me Die In Pieces. I will continue on in this fashion as it seems to be working for me especially for this series.

I have a new editor for Silver Publishing, someone named Jamie, and I am looking forward to working with her. This is for Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour... This book is very close to my heart as it is one of the first MM books I began writing. I put it aside to do the first TLOM book and now it is finally going to see the light of day and I hope at least a few people enjoy Ray and Viv's tale as much as I did while writing it. I have already started on #2: His Damsel in Disgrace and I think I should WARN everyone ahead of schedule that #2 is a HFN the main couple they don't end up staying together but each person does get the HEA eventually in future books.

I should also have the next round of edits from Steve L over at MLRPress next week for Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse... I can't wait to see this one out for you all to see. I really like this storyline and can't wait to see what happens next.

I Signed A New Contract.

I signed the contract on Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour today and it took me three goes to fill in the cover art request - because someone who I will not mention who has a name that sounds a hell of a lot like mine - kept deleting it instead of saving it. Now I remember how much I suck at the Silver editing process... but I will get better as the days and edits go along.

So How's It Going?

I have had a very busy last couple of days. Friday: Took em to a doctor appointment in Toowoomba and met up with my niece for lunch. Saturday: Went back to Toowoomba and got some supplies to do more in the renovations on my office/library (Paint -I am painting it a light grey colour called "Mouse".) Then I went to the hardware and picked up external corners and stuff to do the plastering. Sunday: I actually had a break and the hubs did whatever he needed to do in the office and Monday: (Today) Em had to go to the dentist for her 6 month check-up and has to have two of her teeth removed.

Though yesterday, I did write about 8k in long-hand on The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows. So the day wasn't a total loss for me. I have completely lost my fricken mind because instead of following the original plot line I have made some massive changes that I hope will make the story a better read... Now I have to work out which airport is closest to the Harlingford Hotel in England and how far it is from Central London... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cinder's O... I will be asking for you to do some reading for me if you have time... same as you did on Windblown Kisses: My Knight In Tarnished Armour.
