Two Days Is Too Long.

After driving for the last two days (went to Chinchilla two days in a row - just over a five hour round trip) then I have been backward and forward to Laidley and Brisbane - all in the name of dropping stuff off or picking stuff up for the boys who work for us. And to top it all off it rained for part of the time.

Okay, time to stop bitching and getting on with my ramble... I got Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour back from my beta reader  Jim A and I've now sent it off to Cinders O to get her take on it to see if everything makes sense. and as soon as I get it back I will see where I'm going to try and sub it.

I also got an email from Steve L my MLRPress editor... we are about to start edits on Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse. I can't wait. Is it weird that I have missed doing edits?

Tomorrow Em and I are heading off to Loganholme to have lunch with A.B. Gayle, A.B.'s sister: Catherine, Megan Bamford, Denise Rossetti, and E.E. Montgomery... this should be fun. This way we get to meet A.B. Gayle before we head off to Sydney in October.

Inspirational Music

Today I decided to play 4 song I have been listening to a lot lately. I listen to  them while I am thinking on story lines... Mainly for Experimentals and all the stories involved in that series...

SO ENJOY!!!

The Diamond Rose - Inspirational Pictures

(Andy Sixx of the Black Veil Brides) is who I based my character Billy Martin after.. he doesn't really have that much in common with Andy except for the basic facial features and body type. The major difference is Billy is an ex-cop who finds himself mixed up in a case where nothing is as it seems.

(Chris Zylka - I have no clue who he is in real life -  assume a model maybe) is who I am basing Officer Cole Jackson on. not so much in looks but for the style of hair cut and the basic body build. Both my characters are in their middle to late twenties so you need to age them up a tad.

Basic Blurb (may change closer to when I sub this story):

Billy Martin an ex-cop currently undercover in the cities most notorious strip club because the owner of Von Drake’s is being blackmailed. When his police contact is killed, things go haywire.

Officer Cole Jackson has only one job – keep Billy safe at all costs. Cole goes to the one place he knows is impenetrable. The Diamond Rose: his family’s sanctuary, where they find out not everything is as it seems.

As the enemy surrounds them can Cole and Billy work together to save themselves from getting killed in the line of duty, and the lives of those they care about.

New Computer Tower Up & Running.

This picture above is my new screen saver... though Em tells me she is gonna change it - LOL. Can you believe she banned me from using David Bowie & Jonathan Rhys Meyers? I love being back with y larger screen (yes, sometimes SIZE matters). The hardest part besides losing shit and not being able to find it again is that I have to learn a whole new keyboard... everything is so different from my laptop. And again I have to remember the mouse - as rubbing the desk in front of the keyboard does absolutely jack-shit.

The other bad thing is I now have to put all my CD's back onto the iTunes & I have over a thousand of them it will take me weeks, but in the end it will be worth it. Well, that's what I keep telling myself.

On that note I will away as I have stuff to do before I settle down and write - for the next week I am working on The Diamond Rose: Undercover Hearts... This is a story which change drastically from what I thought it was going to be.  In the end I know it will be a better story so I'm letting Billy and CJ have their own way - for now.

I Had A Thought...

Okay, now that you are all done laughing - I shall continue... For the past bit I have had an inkling for a story inside my brain... I think it will wind up being a series - just not sure at this stage... the Series would be called: The Brothers McCrieve... who are: Justice, Jericho, Jaeger, Joss, Jaik, & Jarrell. At this stage that is all I have but I know they have a story/ies to tell.

To be honest I'm tossing up whether or not to write them as paranormal or as contemporary. I can see some of the characters in my head, and am now looking for people to use their pictures as inspiration... feel free to send me any you think might be helpful... Though I have one stipulation they all must have black hair.

DONE!!!

DONE!!!
Windblown Kisses: My Knight it Tarnished Armour,
is finally off at the beta readers.
It came in at 97,168 words.

Here's Something To Give You All A Good Laugh...

Woke up this morning to the sound of rain gently falling on the roof - I smiled because we live on tank water so any rain is welcome, especially, if it refills my tank - even partially.

Everything is going great and then I remember I have to take Mum out to do some errands so I decide to answer all my emails first and grumble the whole time about having to go out in the rain. I may love the rain but that doesn't mean I want to be out in it (unless of course I am jumping in the puddles - but at my age that might seem a bit weird to other people).

So there I am, in my office at my computer minding my own business when I here the screen door open and know my mum is letting one of the cats in. Just so happens it is my cat "Droogie". This would be no problem though because he likes to sit beside me or sit on the floor at my feet (he's not really a cuddler). Anyway I hear him meowing as he comes into my office and before I can blink he jumps straight into my lap wringing wet through. Mind you, I yell because A: It's winter here and pretty cold, B: He is so wet I now look like I peed myself, & C: He continues to sit there until I dry the bugger off... My mum walks in with an old towel and goes "Oops." - I'm like "Oops, WTF, seriously?" Apparently she got side tracked by something on the TV. As soon as he was dry he jumped off my lap and curled up by the heater.

So now here I am about to drive Mum to town in the rain... Could my day get any worse?

On a brighter note my new computer tower should turn up today... I can't wait.

Updates Galore...

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel - I have 26 pages left of head hopping to go through on Windblown Kisses: My Knight it Tarnished Armour and then I will send it off to Yoda to do his stuff and then to Cinders who I'm hoping will be able to pick up any holes or unanswered questions for me, and then I'll sub it - somewhere.

Ray and Viv's love story has been a work in progress for many years and has gone through many renditions of whet their life is like... this story is loosely based on events that may or may not have happened somewhere in the history of my family... though the whole being rich thing is make believe because believe me my family is not rich - LOL.

I have my good mate Richy telling me to hurry the hell up and get The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows finished - so I have said it is one of the next books I will be working on.

Whereas Emily wants me to finish The Diamond Rose: Undercover Hearts... Hey! Is it my fault she liked the series title and got it tattooed across her sternum? I think not - but I have promised her I'll finish it up as well.

My brother Ted Saddo tells me I have a couple of more sessions on my arm before it is complete. I don't mind the waiting... though I am rearranging my future sessions Rodney Rocket is gonna let me know the sitch.

Speaking of Rodney... he is being a darling, and is helping me create a character... I have him drawing up some character sketches for me. I am hoping that by the end of the year we will have the whole basis of the storyline down pat...

This weekend I should be doing a shit-load more building in the renovations... we should get the room lined and the floor laid down at least and then it is only the shelving put in and the painting  - Oh, and I need to get Dave the electrician to drop by and change the light fixtures.

I Am Away Tomorrow...

Tomorrow I will be spending another awesome filled morning sitting in Ted Saddo's tattoo chair at:  Sink The Ink Tattooz. I'm getting the next instalment on my horror/cartoon sleeve. we are getting closer to the end. I'm hoping to get it all finished before I hit Sydney in October for the OzmmMeet.

I bought my new financial year diary today... the only one in the style I wanted was pink. Not a colour I would normally choose for myself, but beggars can't be choosers as they say. Well, at least I won't lose the damn thing. Last years I lost quite a bit, it had a tendency to blend into the desk top as they were both mahogany.

My new computer tower arrives on Friday at some stage. The nice guy who is putting it all together (Bob) is just adding all the programs I want. I can't wait until the damn thing is installed and then Em will be happy she doesn't have to share the laptop any more. Even though it's my laptop.

Yes! I'm Back...

<= This guy came from somewhere. Actually, I have no clue where I borrowed him from, but he has a story behind him. => Your job is to tell me what his story is, so I  have a basis of where to start. This is what I need:

Name...
Age...
Species...
Job...
Love Interest (& what said love interest stats are)...
Story title (& is it a series)...
Story prompt...
& anything else you want to share...

I had the last 2 days off (family time)... mind you I do feel better for having the break away from the computer and when I let my mind go it actually started working properly again... At some God-awful-hour this morning, I woke up with the ending/last chapter for book 3: Pools of Amethysts (may have a title change still thinking on it) in The Lines of Marsden. Now once I finish the last 7K of head hopping in Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour (or as an alternative title) The Connelly Chronicles: Ray. I'll get back onto TLOM.

Exercising is going well I have already lost 2 kg (4.4 lbs) in the last week and can only hope that it keeps on as it is. I will give you updates every now and again if I remember.

What's The Go...

So yesterday, I packed up all my tax stuff and trundled off to another tax meeting... slowly over the last six months I am finally getting some much needed answers I have been asking for years. Even though I did it wrong (the way I put the tax stuff together - they are going to show me exactly how they want it done for the future). They still thought I had all the correct information neatly presented and they can work with it this time.

We finally have a sunny fricken day so I can get the washing done and hopefully dry...  If not than my house will end up looking like a Laundromat again... that the be-all-&-end-all that the hubs is away.

This cute picture is just because my good friend Cherie Noel sent this to me a while ago on Facebook, and I just had to share it with you all. Everyone knows how much I love bats - they are right up there with cats (wild & domestic), dragons, wolves & gargoyles.

Day 3 Of Exercise Regime & Other News...

Okay, so the truth is after 3 days of this regime -  I don't know if I will ever be up to this guys level of fitness. I get up at the arse-crack of dawn, and make my way to the home Gym Em has set up in our shed.... I look around and found myself all on my lonesome - where was Em you may ask? (I'll tell you where she was - snuggled up in her nice warm bed sleeping).

I have only one complaint: My armpits and upper arms (the inside where it meets my pit) are sore... everywhere else I'm fine. On the upside: I'm not so tired all the damn time.

On other news: I am onto the last 15K review of Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour. I will sub this as soon as my beta reader and Cinders have had a chance to give it a look-see. And I have heard I should be starting edits on Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse by next week or the week after.

Awesome News To Share...

Welcome Steve... Everyone I would like to tell you all I have a new editor at MLRPress and his name is Steve...

Also: I have signed and sent in the contract for Experimentals: Blessed With a Curse. So I should have first round of edits on that coming may way in the near future.

OMG!!!

Today I started the Army stamina exercise regime with Emily and lets just say so far we have only done the morning ones and we still have the arvo ones to go... My body is screaming and wants me to knock Em out as she can be a drill master when she wants to. (I still do see why she chose me to be her workout partner) - okay so maybe I need to lose some kilo's - but is the pain worth it? Me, I'm not so sure.

Let's just say I wish I was as good at push-ups as this guy,
apparently I suck at them.

On another note: The cladding is up, and the insulation is in (man, that stuff is itchy as all crap) - I think today we are doing the flooring and the inner walls. I will find out what is on the agenda when the Hubs gets back from our work shed.

Doing The Cladding

Okay I am only stopping by briefly to let you all know I have started on the cladding for the office/library extension - fingers crossed we get it done before the rain starts... overcast as hell outside at the moment.

My Upcoming Week

I have an agenda... How well my week runs is how close I can stick to said agenda. With the way I get distracted we all know that could happens so easily this week might just turn into a giant cluster-fuck.

First off I still have no new editor news for MLR (I know I have one just not who it is as yet - to be honest I think my computer ate it). If I don't hear anything by my Monday I'll email and ask.

I have the last 10K of Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour, which I promised my beta reader (Yoda - aka - James Adkinson) he'll get this by the end of the weekend or the middle of next week by the latest. After he's finished doing his thing with the story line I'm going to sub it somewhere. Not sure where, but as soon as I know I'll tell you all. Though I want to know if before I send it to be subbed would Cinders read through it to make sure I haven't left any major holes in the story line... Let me know if you can.

I have a ton more tax stuff to get together and I have a meeting with our business manager on Thursday in Brisbane... so I have to get that done. (Funny story: I will be able to laugh about it later, but right now I feel like slamming my head against the wall. One of our cats (Toby) decided it would be a good idea to jump up on my office desk, an in the process he knocked down all the carefully separated files so everything fell into a big mess. So now I have to re separate them all because when my mum picked them up she mixed them up even further and put them all together). I plan on fixing them on Tuesday and Wednesday so I have them ready by Thursday.

Emily is getting ready to reapply for the Army... her required amount of years has passed since she had her operation (spleen removed). We have been given the Army work out schedule for her to build up her stamina. Em in all her wisdom has decided if she has to do this then I'm doing it as well just to  keep her company... So if I suddenly drop off the radar you'll all know I've keeled over from trying to run... My body was not built to run - and apparently there is a lot of it.

My hubs has gone out the morning and is getting the supplies we ordered to build the office/library extension so we'll probably start on this as well at some stage today. (When I say we - you all know I mean Em and the hubs - they know how unco I am, and have banned me from touching any of their tools - no matter how good a job I did with helping Ted do reno's in the Tattoo shop: which come to think of it, Ted wouldn't let me touch the tools either, maybe they have something?)

Until July 31 (The Next 56 Days)

I have a headache today - I did so much running around this morning (still no new computer tower - because the guy's shop was once again closed) every time I go there lately he is closed - I think I need to find a new computer guy.

I am still working on Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour... I am at 54K and I want to try and get the whole story finished by the end of the weekend or by middle of next week at the latest - (only 26K to go).

After that I will concentrate on the following three stories which I hope to have all of them finished by the end of July:

The Lines of Marsden: Living in Shadows (44K to go)
The Diamond Rose: Undercover Hearts (35K to go)
Kody (15k to go)

All up I have 120k to write ~ wish me luck.

Em's Turn...

Here are some oldies but goodies.
I used to sing these to Em when she was a baby.
Enjoy!

NEWS FLASH!!!

I've just had a message that I'll find out this week about my new editor at MLR Press.
Also I will be getting a contract for Experimentals: Blessed With A Curse.

PS: This is the song with three awesome lines which gave me that great story idea.
Yeah the one I lost.

I'm Having One Of Those Days...

I'm having one of those days when Murphy's Law seems to be running rampant in my life. It's all the little shit that goes wrong that makes you want to bang your head against the wall for hours at a time. I should add it's nothing major happening just stuff that adds up to be a bog fat pain in the arse.

Come with me if you will while I share: my house phones died so I had to replace them (nothing is made to last these days). The new phones while they look good are crackling and I have no clue why.

I still haven't heard who my new editor is at MLR - but I do know that someone is reading my stuff so hopefully soon I will hear something (we all know how much I love waiting - LOL). I have had contact with the EIC so I know I will eventually get somebody.

I was listening to a song the other day and I got a great idea for a story so I quickly jotted down my idea and then promptly lost the notebook with the idea in it. - (How can I lose a notebook?) I have no clue where it went to and I never found it while I spring cleaned my house out over the weekend.

I am trying to book my stay at a Sydney hotel for a meet I am going to in October and the place is never heard of it even though the Meet is at there hotel (why don't people tell other people what's happening so at least one person each shift knows what the hell is going on?) So now I had to email them and I am waiting to hear back from them while they sort it out on their end.

The good news is I am still reworking Windblown Kisses: My Knight in Tarnished Armour ( I am going back and revising the last 10K I just reworked to double check the head hopping).

PS: The picture I posted is here
just because I thought it was HOT!!!
