It's All About Me

I'm not dieting per-se, I've more just changed my eating habits... trying to eat a little healthier... You see I have a thyroid problem, which I must admit I think okay so I'm fat... nothing I can do about that━hello TP (thyroid problem). But no longer. I may have trouble losing weight because I have said TP, but I can always control what goes in my mouth.

The hardest part is I gave up Coke Zero in this past week, and have the headaches to prove it, but that could be more because I always get migraines. I just found it was starting to taste funny, so that's a sign that it needs to go for a while.

Anyway about a week ago I started eating healthier ... I started at 106.1 KG (233.91 Lb) and in a week I dropped to 104.2 KG (229.72 Lb) I'll keep you updated periodically. My brother says he's going to keep me on track... meaning he'll make sure I don't start drinking CZ again and asking if I did my exercises (Which I can't do until he puts my TV up on the wall in my bedroom for me)... I suppose is a good idea as it makes me more determined to prove him wrong. Not that I'm saying he'll think I'll fail...LOL... but he's family and they are allowed to take the piss out of me.

So I'm now asking you all to help keep me on track as well. I turn 48 on 2 February. So I'm trying to get healthier before I turn 50. I think two years is a great goal time frame... Feel free to join in this health kick with me... leave me a message or PM me on Facebook and I'll help keep track on you as well. we can have weekly catch-ups. We can share tips & recipes... We can also bitch about what we find difficult and it will just be between us.

I'm So Pissed Off

Okay so this is how my Saturday night went: Well I'd started at 12:30 watching the BBL6 Women's final (Sydney Sixers won)... then I was switching between the BBL6 Men's final (Perth Scorchers won) & the Williams sisters tennis grand final (Serena won).... anyway, that's not what pissed me off.

My cats Willow (top) & Droogie (below) are basically indoor cats. they spend all day inside from 5am to about 7pm at night (14 hours) and then for the night they are outside in a fully enclosed cat cage probably 20 metres by 10 metres so they have plenty of room to run around and get their stalk on.

Well last night a cat from up the street came down and Droogie defended his territory the only way he could─by yowling really loudly, which he did twice. I went straight outside to make sure all was well, and my neighbour (Who has a tendency to play music really loudly all day long until you are nearly insane (but if I'm being honest, he has kept it down for the last month). Anyway this delightful person came out into his yard at the same time and told me if my cats ever went into his yard he was going to kill them...

I was like WTF!!! I calmly told him─Okay the f-word might have been in there─that my cats have never been his yard because A) they are fifteen and lazy, & B) they are fully enclosed in and can't get out of my yard... he kept telling me it's the law that they need to be locked up... I may or may not have told him before he quotes the law he should look it up... I went to the council and they said cats only have to be locked up during the night which mine are.

I paid a fortune for my cat enclosure my brother and I worked for weeks building it (colour-bond fence on two sides and special cat mesh on the rest. There is also waterproof shade cloth on the roof, because eventually I will add plants so it's part green house. But that has to wait until my separation is complete and I get my money back. Here are some pics of my very bare cat enclosure... Not sure if you can see the special cat wire, but trust me it's there. This also shows the roof partially built. You just have to imagine it with the waterproof shade cloth and over the steps end there is colour-bond roofing.

RJ Scott ~Montana

I'm reading this series at the moment and loving it... I have read the first three books quite a few times and now started from book again. I can't wait until I get to book four. If you are looking for some bloody good stories to read, then in my humble opinion this is the series for you. I love how the inter connect but are each their own story. I honestly hope many more books are written in this series.

BLURBS:

Crooked Tree Ranch
When a cowboy, meets the guy from the city, he can't know how much things will change.

On the spur of the moment, with his life collapsing around him, Jay Sullivan answers an ad for a business manager with an expertise in marketing, on a dude ranch in Montana.

With his sister, Ashley, niece, Kirsten and nephew, Josh, in tow, he moves lock stock and barrel from New York to Montana to start a new life on Crooked Tree Ranch.

Foreman and part owner of the ranch, ex rodeo star Nathaniel 'Nate' Todd has been running the dude ranch, for five years ever since his mentor Marcus Allen became ill.

His brothers convince him that he needs to get an expert in to help the business grow. He knows things have to change and but when the new guy turns up, with a troubled family in tow - he just isn't prepared for how much.
NB: This is a previously released title. It includes a new chapter and is re-edited with new cover art.

The Rancher's Son
A man without memories, and the cop who never gave up hope.

When he wakes up in the hospital, the victim of a brutal beating, John Doe has no memories of who he is or who hurt him. The cops can find nothing to identify him and he can't remember anything to help... except the name Ethan and one recurring place from his dreams. Two words, and they're not much, but it's a start: Crooked Tree.

Detective Ethan Allens has never stopped searching for the two boys who vanished. When a report lands on Ethan's desk that may give new leads, he jumps at the chance to follow them up. The man he finds isn't his brother, but it's someone who could maybe help him discover what happened twelve years ago.

What neither man can know is that facing the very real demons of the past could destroy any kind of future they may have together.

A Cowboy's Home
One burned and broken man finds his way home. Can he find peace in the arms of a man easy to love?

Justin made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, battling domestic terrorism, never the man he really was, using hate to avenge the death of his best friend. The friend he'd killed.

What he doesn’t count on is getting shot, and if he's going to die he wants it to be on Crooked Tree soil. Home.

Sam is as much a part of Crooked Tree as any of the families, and the offer to buy into the ranch is a dream come true. But falling for a hidden, secretive, injured man isn’t the way to keep his head in the game.

Snow In Montana
An actor in the closet, a sheriff in love, and memories that won’t stay hidden.

Jordan Darby is known as the King of Christmas. The star of eight made-for-TV Christmas movies, the leading man who always gets his girl. Filming at Crooked Tree Ranch in Montana, in the ice and snow, Jordan is fighting to make a go of his new company and dealing with fears of exposure over one huge secret. After all, who the hell would buy into him being a romantic straight lead if rumors about him being gay were proven to be true?

Sheriff Ryan Carter is advising on the new movie being made at Crooked Tree. He hoped this would be one day of work and nothing more. Until, that is, he meets the hero. But while Jordan is sexy, he’s also very much stuck in the closet—everything that Ryan doesn’t need in his life. And then lust becomes part of the equation, and Ryan’s quiet life is thrown into turmoil.

Their story unfolds against the chaos that overtakes the ranch, with Adam regaining memories that terrify him and make him look at Justin differently, and Justin leaving the ranch to make things right. Only through trusting in love and friendship can Justin and Adam learn to look to the future instead of letting the past destroy everything. But will they ever see clearly enough to do that?

Getting My Shit Together #3

This is some of my mum's chicken collection... when I show more photo's you'll probably be able to see more of them. As much as I bitch about them (because I gave up my dragon collection for her chickens when we moved house) they actually look pretty good littered throughout the house. And if the truth be told─I think I bought her most of the ornaments.

This is  my kitchen. don't mind the dishes in the draining rack. I swear they're clean. I just didn't feel like wiping them up and putting them away after lunch. The watermelon is not mine as I don't eat them. It belongs to my mum and my brother they can figure out who gets how much. We'll split it after Ted finishes work and he will take his home. What they don't eat will be fed to the chickens... real ones... Ted and Delmae have pet chickens at their house.

This is Mum's bedroom (she's just about to turn 85)─this room is still a work in progress, so I'll update this picture at some stage for you all to see. I'll show my bedroom off more fully after I get rid of the crap on my bedside table─stuff to go to the op-shop and some to go into the spare room storage when I buy it (mainly excess office supplies).

Getting My Shit Together #2

My Sister in-law, Delmae gave me this awesome hanger rack. I think it's meant to be for coats, but for me it holds my hats. I have a collection of hats so I'll just swap them out every now and again and have different ones on display. these are the two I wear the most.

This is my office area, and sits on the opposite side of the room from the wall of artwork I showed you all yesterday. Mainly Emily uses this one when she comes up and needs to do assignments for uni. in the bookcase closest is my mums books that she likes to read... and her CD's.

Getting My Shit Together #1

Got some of my artwork back up on the walls... some hasn't seen the light of day in over ten years... seven are my own drawings.... one is my brothers drawing... three is art work of the kids... and the rest are family pictures and bought pictures... and yes, seven of them are of David Bowie... the best part is I have room for more artwork. I think it's time to pull out the sketchbook and pencils again.

And my other important part is the library... This is an updated version, seeing as I finally finished unpacking and sorting through the books I'm keeping. The hardest part is blending mine and my mum's styles and making them look good. I will post some more pictures each day this week so you can see how much I've been doing since moving in a month ago─I still have the spare room to go and I have a month to get it done in because we'll be having interstate visitors.

Weekly Report

Once again I have my wordage count met. I’m actually even surprising myself. I thought I would’ve crashed and burned long before now. I must admit that at times I thought: What the hell am I doing? I was getting the stories and characters mixed up—but we all know that’s nothing new for me. Anyway… here’s where I’m at:

Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go 30K
The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses 30K

Unsubmitted Plan

These are the books I have wanted to get written—or—rewritten, because they mean something to me. I’m just hoping that everyone enjoys them as much as I do. It’s so hard trying to figure out which story belongs with which publisher. I only hope that I choose wisely. I'm also hoping I can finally try my hand at writing some more one off books and some young adult books. I'm not sure if I'd be very good at them, but I want to give them a go.

Admetus Gaea 1: The Gaean Prophecy 28/07—24/08
SPAM Inc. 1: Claiming Roxy’s Heart 25/08—21/09

Pride Plan

Even though there is only a small amount of books here it doesn’t mean that this will be the end of my time with Pride. It just means once I get to the end of the lists for this publisher I’ll be able to think about submitting different stories and series. there will still be 3 more in The Connelly Chronicles, and 4 more in the Destiny House series.

Wardens of the Guild 3: Heart Strings 29/01—23/02

Fireborn Plan

There are so many stories where I need to figure out where I’m heading. Okay, I should clarify somewhat. I know where I’m heading I have to work out how to get to the end result—the path I should take with the least resistance. Sometimes my stories like to walk in circles for a while before they say okay enough piss-arsing around, and let’s get on with the damn story. But, I know I'll get there in the end. Especially, if I have all of you out there kicking my arse with encouragement.

Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go 01/01—27/01
The Diamond Rose 2: So Pretty on the Outside 29/01—23/02
The Freedomers 2: Craine’s Everlasting Faith 24/02—23/03

The Freedomers 4: Finding Arotol’s Destiny 15/08—11/09

MLRPress Plan

If I keep my mind on what I’m doing this will be the writing list and the dates I plan to start and finish. I plan on getting them all written, but that doesn’t mean they will all get submitted as I want to pace out the editing factor. Honestly, I don't mind if i only just get them written because I know I'll have time in the future to submit the to where they need to go. I'm just enjoying the whole writing process again. I'm going to do everything in my power to stay on track.

The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses 01/01—08/03
The Lines of Marsden 4.5: On the 12th Day 09/03—05/04

End Of Week Report

For once I'm right on track. I feel pretty good about where I'm now heading.

Do you know how strange it is when you have to read your own work just because you can't remember what the hell the story is about. After a year I've been re reading all of my works especially for the books I'm working on now... Some parts make me cringe, but I know I'm getting better with each and every story that I write.

At least the cramps in my arms have stopped, and hopefully like when I constantly wrote before, I'll get faster with each passing day.

I never did find the mouse to the house computer, so in the end I went and bought another one. So I got a cheap one because I know I'll eventually find my good one. The problem is the new one is bloody pink. It's the last time I let Emily choose for me.

From here on out I'll only blog Monday to Friday, because I'm trying not to spend to much time on the computer during the weekend. I'm trying to keep my weekend for family and pets.

I'm halfway through
Moon Runners 2: I won't Let You Go

I'm a 5th of the way through
The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses

I'm halfway through
Wardens of the Guild 2: All That Shimmers

What's Going On #4

These are books that are in my WIPs list, but I haven't yet decided where I'll be submitting these to─but I guess I'll figure it out when I get there.

Admetus Gaea: Yes I wrote and published this through Silver publishing, but have since pulled it apart and when I re submit it will be the same story line, but will be less cluttered... if that makes sense. #1 Zadyn & Jarkebb, #2 Raeligh & Coen, & #3 Grayson & Jondalar. there will also be more books in this series but I'm still working them out.

The rest are still only ideas and will come to light when it's their time:

Flagstone Creek
Guardian of the Dragon Born: Cullen Arinan
Inner City Pack
Mountain Made
Outside the Safety Zone
Quaide's Crossing
SPAM Inc.
Taking Chances
The Brothers McCrieve
The Core

And if I can work it in another Bush Bashin' story for Cinders.

What's Going On #3

I'm lucky to have such great publishers who accept the often crazy-arsed paths my mind take while writing.

Hidden Hearts: There are only two more books to come in this series #3 is a friend of the families's story, &#4 is Macen's story. I'mm looking forward to writing these two, but will have to wait until they come on the roster. I wish I could write them all at the same time, but I'm limiting myself to 3 books at a time.

Moon Runners: This has been a series that always seemed to get pushed to the back-burner, but not anymore. I'm determined to let these characters reach the light of day. # 3 Marcus & Kaleb carries on from the first where our pack is protecting those who need it against an enemy they can't quite figure out who is coming after them. The Moon Runner Pack has to change with all that's heading their way.

The Diamond Rose: I'm still struggling with this one. I know as soon as I get my head around the probably non-existent (all except to me) it will start to flow quickly. I'm also still deciding just who's stories to tell as there are so many characters I could go with. I'm also figuring out if there are other worlds out their besides the one discovered in #1.

The Freedomers: If the truth be told, I'm kind of freaking out over this one because I've never written MF before and I so don't want to suck at it, and I have to figure out how to write the MM & MF as a cohesive whole back story, but make it so if you don't like MF you can just read the other four stories and still know what's going on... Though for the life of me I don't understand why you wouldn't want to read the whole series.

What's Going On #2

I'm lucky my publishers have all been wonderful & understanding over my train wreck of a 2016.

Destiny House: This will be a spin off series I'm starting which will be coming this year (6 books in all). In essence it's a spin off from my The Connelly Chronicles series. The characters from TCC won't be main characters, but will be floating around in the background stories. I want to tell the stories of the young men who come to reside at the refuge GG set up.

The Connelly Chronicles: I love this series and can't wait to start writing it again. Originally I had planned 5 books, but in my year away I came up with a story for one last book, so now there will be 6 I'll have this whole series finished by the end of 2018 because I want to not let too much time to pass between each writing. #3  Dan & Nate, #4 Declan & Sean, #5 Jamie & Bear, #6 Ben & ??? (I'm still thinking).

Wardens of the Guild: I'm still figuring out where I'm heading with this series. I have so many ideas, but not sure which direction I should take to get to my end place. I know #2 is about Eric & Murtagh, but after that I'm still a little hazy.

What's Going On #1

I have most of my books through MLRPress, they were the first publishing company to take a chance on me, and I'll be forever grateful to Laura and the team. Over the next 3 years I plan on finishing:

The Lines of Marsden (up to Book 6): We'll follow Michael and his ever-changing family before hand of the story to the next generation. This story takes up a large part of my heart, and yes Doyle is still my favourite character for the first Line. the more I write these books the more I love unravelling the secrets of their lives.

Experimentals: Another story I wrote by accident. Originally it was supposed to be part of the Mixed Tape anthology, but as per usual with me the story line took off and in the end it had nothing to do with 80's music. Never-the-less it is a story that I really enjoyed writing & can't wait to explore more in the lives of the characters within.

Intended Mates: This is still a new concept to me. I'm still trying to figure out who is who, and where they fit within the story line. pardon the pun─I wasn't even intending to write this story, but when my editor pitched it to me I couldn't help but jump on board. I'll have to do some more planing on this one before I can share, because I can't tell you what I myself haven't figured out.

Lancaster's Way: I should have this series finished by the end of July this year. I know I have been promising to pull my finger out and get it done─now that I'm writing again it's time to make true on that promise. #3 is Chet & Grady, #4 is Kelly Mac & (I'm still deciding), & #5 we visit Riley's family in Australia.

Pack Matters & Watson Falls: Here I'm hoping to tell of the beginning background story (or prequels if you will) to Sons of Evenmore: This is another series I've been lax on and for that I apologise, but I promise to make up for this over the next 3 years. Hopefully I'll tie up all the lose ends.

Toowoomba Boys:  #1 of this series was the first story I ever had released and by the time we get to #7 we'll have come full circle. and have come back to Angelo & Marlowe. I know the wait will be worth it in the end.

I Have A Plan...

I've spent the last couple of evenings going over all of my books, and coming up with a 3 year writing plan. I know people will think I'm being ambitious. the truth is only I know how much I can write each day (in case your wondering it's between, 1K & 10K) I must admit the most I've ever written is 12K... but being realistic I'm slotting in 6K each week day─leaving afternoons and weekends for editing and running household errands.

I'm not going to write out a list for you all as it would take ages and you all know I'll eventually change the writing order. I always do. but on paper it looks good so far. I actually have one more year to write up 2019 (I hope to finish writing it up tonight)─which will use up the last of my WIPS page. Sadly in my enthusiasm I forgot to add Toowoomba Boys to 2017. but I swear in 2018/19 the series will be finished.

I've been playing catch up with all my editors, and asking and getting instructions now that I'm back. the cramps in my arms have settled down a lot for which I'm very thankful. I've also been chatting with my beta reader & getting organised.

I have to give myself a haircut at some stage later today (yes I cut my own hair) I have a crew cut so it's not like I can stuff it up (and if I do it will grow back in 3 weeks).

My Day Today...

I have to write this all out because seriously my day has been weird and a little bit hectic.

1) I have a sore backbasically because I still have the last minute things to unpack and find homes for. A lot of my gently used stuff found it's way to other people via our disabled facility they sell it for money for their causes.

2) I had to take my mother to get her hearing tested, after my brother and I have tried explaining that she needs to wear them every day and her telling us she doesn't. The hearing doctor agreed with me and now mum has finally worn the damn aids all day and I haven't had to repeat myself, and the TV doesn't have to be on high.

3) Hoping this is the week Emily takes the last of her stuff to her house and gets it out from under my feet. I'm sick of tripping over crap that isn't mine. then it will only be her books to go.

4) It's all overcast and it looks like we may be in for another storm. Thank God my washing no longer gets hung outside it might take longer to dry, but at least it does... we are supposed to get a few decent storms in the next couple of weeks.

5) Emily went on a picnic and took my car instead of her own. I hate driving other people's cars, because I never want to fix them if they break.

6) I had to book my car in to get the rear tyres changed (Friday 9 am).

7) Shopping this morning, but had to get home in time to watch the 3rd  cricket test match between Australia & Pakistan... we've won the series, but it's always good to watch regardless. tomorrow is Jane McGrath breast cancer day at the cricket so it will be a sea of pink. Always awesome to see.

8) My cats are acting sookie and acting all cuddly. Driving me nuts but I love them both to death. So naturally I'm letting them climb all over me rule the roost.

9) I couldn't find any of my grocery reusable shopping bags, so I've had to buy more... only to realise Emily has them all with her stuff packed in them. I will be glad when she brings them all back to me. I don't like using plastic bags. They always seem to tear.

10) Also been trying to figure out how to place my pictures on the wall. They are ones I've collected, I've drawn, or were given to me over the years. I can't wait to see it all done.

Tuesday's Thoughts...

Today I'm back to writing, but before I start I want to update my blogs to make sure they are current... I don't mean colours as I like them the way they are. I'm more along the lines of changing out the pictures and getting ready for anything that is released this year.

I'm not going to have word counters for each book... Instead I'll only have a wordage metre for the words I plan on writing 1,560,000─ a little over the Penny Brandon Challenge which is still in progress... I will have a counter for that as well...

I'm tying to look ahead for the whole year─as you can tell by the list I blogged on January 1st. You'll notice that I already have 63 K in my total wordage for 2017─that's because I added up all the bits of stories in the list that I have already done. Mind you most will be reviewed and re-written. but I wanted to be honest with you all from the very start & hopefully you all can kick my arse and keep me on track.

So who out there made New Years Resolutions? I think I might have already told you that I didn't make any this year. I just figured that this year I'm only concentrating on family & my writing. Speaking of: I have only one room left to finish putting together. but that can't happen until I buy some more storage (drawers & wardrobe/linen closet)─This is for the spare room. I also have to  move my spare bed & trundle in (at the moment they are at my brother & sister in-laws place). I can't wait for it all to be done.

For now I'm working on:

The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses
Wardens of the Guild 2: All that Shimmers
Moon Runners 2: I Won't Let You Go

Catch you all in the next couple of days

Happy New Year

Happy New Year.
Breathe in—breathe out… I’ve made it to another year and I’m so grateful to be alive… Not that I was dying last year—it only felt like I was. I survived to get my life back on track…
I don’t have any New Year’s resolutions… I guess I know I wouldn’t stick to them…LOL. But I've been thinking a lot about writing, and this is what I’ve come up with:
If I write 6K a day 5 days a week I can write 36 books 34 novellas and 2 novels: 365 (w-days) – 105 (days) X 6K (per day) – 200K (2 novels) ÷ 40K Novellas = 34. But I'll be happy just to make the 22 needed for the PB Challenge. The following lists aren't written in any particular writing order─more just what I plan on working. I'll let you know daily/weekly how I'm doing on my wordage.

Fireborn Publishing: 11 (all 40K)
·      Hidden Hearts 3: Going By the Book
·      Hidden Hearts 4: Couples Cover
·      Moon Runners 2: I won’t Let You Go
·      Moon Runners 3: Something That You Said
·      The Diamond Rose 2: So Pretty On The Outside
·      The Diamond Rose 3: Sometimes it Hurts
